I didn’t believe much in superstitions, gut feelings, and premonitions, so I shook myself off and tried to enjoy the day. Once we got to the end of our ride, Mircea and Dragos disappeared. Auntie chuckled and rested her hand on my shoulder as we walked to the top of the now empty sky slope. “Those boys! Even here, they’ll go chasing after girls. You’re nothing like them, are you, sweetheart?” I shrugged and looked down. Of course I wasn’t like them, I didn’t like girls like that. And chasing boys wasn’t exactly something you could do in the open. “Let’s go find some hot chocolate,” she said and the weight on my shoulder disappeared. “Yes, let’s!” I smiled at her and hurried to the nearby hotel.
