CHAPTER FIVE
The car ride was awkward, Roman couldn't decide if he should play music or keep it quiet, glancing at her, he noticed her sitting stiffly so he decided to make her relax by playing the radio.
Fiddling with his car radio, "What do you like?" he asked
"Huh?", Winter was so nervous she didn't hear him
"What music do you like?" he repeated
"Oh... some pop music is okay" she replied
The music made the atmosphere less awkward. Roman looked over at her and noticed her mumbling the words to the music. "Who is your favorite pop artist?", he asked
Winter had a diverse taste in music, not aware of Roman staring at her, she started counting her fingers "Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Billie, honestly I can't mention all" she replied
She had been a fan of romantic and pop songs, she listens to Billie albums when she needs to relax, a little bit of Doja Cat when cleaning and Ariana Grande is played for every other occasion.
"That's nice" replied Roman, he doesn't really know about any of these artists, he was too busy to play music or relax.
Winter looked over at him and noticed he was clueless "You have no idea who these artists are do you?" she asked, he shook his head no.
"So you don't listen to music?" she asked
"No i don’t" he replied
Winter was shocked, music was the only thing keeping her sane with her busy schedule she couldn't believe she would meet someone who didn't listen to music.
"Anyways, now you owe me a date", Roman said , he wanted to say that before he would drop her off
Winter was already expecting him to ask again
"I know I told you I am busy but I could make time tomorrow after Olivia's appointment" she replied
Roman was glad she didn't turn him down
"I'll pick you up once you're done with olivia" he said
"You can give me a location, I'll drive and meet you there" she said
"I like to pick my woman up" Romon replied
"My Woman!! Oh no" Roman thought he quickly corrected himself
"I mean my date"
Winter was glad he corrected himself, she didn't want him to overwhelm her, although she would be glad to be his woman, Roman was attractive, soft spoken and carried himself well, she could see herself being with a man like him.
"it’s alright" she replied
Looking up she noticed they had almost reached her apartment
"You can park right here" she told Roman
Roman parked the car, and he quickly got out to open the door for Winter.
"Thank you" Said winter
"You don't have to thank me, I'll walk you to the entrance" replied Roman
On getting to the front of the elevator, she turned and faced Roman "Thank you for the ride"
"Always my pleasure" replied Roman. "I'll see you tomorrow"
"Yeah, see you tomorrow", winter shyly waved
Roman walked back to his car, glad that he had scored a date with her even though he would prefer a dinner date, a lunch date was better than nothing. He drove off back to his house happily.
The following morning, Winter had woke up early for her morning stretches, she could only do them on Sundays and Mondays, she decided to cook herself a hearty meal since she had stock her refrigerator, cooking chicken sandwich, she drank her tea and went off to the sitting room to eat, a call came in from her assistant, Jamie, and she stood up to get ready for the day, she had her bathe and dressed in a simple pink office gown with a white coach bag and white Louboutin heels, she had her hair curled and makeup done to a minimum, she had a lunch date and wanted to look good, checking herself out in the mirror, she took her white coat and car keys and set out for the day.
Getting to the office, Olivia and her fiancé were already on seat, smiling at them "Follow me to my office, Jamie, you too"
They all had their seat and got into the planning
Jamie was checking her tab when she suddenly stood up "Someone is looking for you at the reception, but there's no new appointment", she wondered who was looking for her boss.
Winter already had an idea of who it was so she told her if the person is Roman Block, they can come in, Jamie wondered why her boss was attending to another client.
Roman had been waiting at the reception, when he saw a lady walking up to him, he guessed she was Winter's assistant, " I'm here to see Winter" he said
"Are you Mr. Roman block?", Jamie asked
"yes", he replied
"Okay, come on in"
Meanwhile Olivia and Landon had ignored their wedding planning and started to question Winter
"What's my brother doing here?" asked olivia"he didn't tell me he was coming"
"Actually, we are going on a date" replied Winter, she didn't know if she should tell her but Roman was going to make his intentions known immediately he walked in so she had no choice but to talk.
Olivia was shocked, her mouth fell open, Landon saw her reaction and started laughing "Babe, youre dramatic" said Landon
" dramatic!!, I'm acting normal right now, I didn't know Roman could ask her on a date and so fast" she replied
There was a knock on the door and Roman came in " hi" he smiled at winter
"Somebody pinch me" said olivia
Landon pinched her, laughing . "ouch babe, I didn't mean literally" Olivia said rubbing the spot where Landon pinched her
Roman merely ignored her. Olivia stood up "Babe, let's go", dragging Landon, she faced winter "We will continue another time, have fun but not too much" she winked and left with Landon.
Winter blushed profusely, she looked up and finally replied to Roman’s greeting "Hi, welcome, and sorry for the delay at the reception, my visits are mostly appointments" she said
"its alright" replied Roman
"Let me arrange these files then we can leave" said winter
"Sure, no problem" replied Roman
Winter started arranging her desk, she could feel Roman’s heated gaze on her.
Roman was staring at her intensely, she was in a pink dress, and he hadn't seen the whole thing but she looked so gorgeous.
"Alright, I'm done"
Roman stood up and she closed the door to her office, Winter walked up to Jamie "I'll be back, you can attend to the clients in my stead till I'm back"
Roman was surprised she had clients but made time for him, so she had really meant it when she said she was busy and turned him down the first time.
Roman opened the car door for her, she entered muttering a thanks, he opened the driver's side and handed her flowers, he had gotten her roses on his way,
"Thank you" Winter replied while smiling, it was her first time receiving flowers from a man.
"Anything for you" replied Roman "Let's go"
Winter had refrained from asking where he was taking her to, she wanted him to surprise her.
Roman was going to impress her, he hoped she was going to like what he had prepared.
