Randy dropped his hands and narrowed his eyes. “Is he too far away for you, Rafe?” “Yes, actually—” “Shut up, Rafe.” Randy stood and began to pace. “You’re absolutely right. My father is none of your business.” Lyle sighed. “He’s just concerned. And I don’t blame him. Henry shouldn’t be—” “So we just trust that he has my father’s best interests in mind?” Randy snorted. “Hardly.” “That’s not fair,” Lyle growled. “Fair?” Randy’s voice squeaked on the word. “You know nothing about this man! And I’m thinking that you might not have a vampire chasing you down if you hadn’t decided to go sniffing him out of the darkness. Doesn’t that seem a little pre-planned to you? Why is he even here?
