As soon as the door locked behind us, I took my hands of Selene. My face had on a stormy expression, my dislike for her presence evident. At the same time, Xander was pandering around in my mind, clearly restless.
Selene stood in the middle of the guestroom, as an uncomfortable silence overshadowed us. And then suddenly, she started to sob, sounds that filled the room unnaturally. Her shoulders shook, her back caved in, clearly needed some support but I stood back.
“What do you want here?” I hissed.
“Can’t you see…” She whispered, with a shaky voice, and sharply turned to me with red eyes. “Can’t you see that b***h is trying to break us apart again?”
