Chapter 18: The Royal Alpha

Alexandra hunched lower into the bushes, careful to not make a sound. Closing her eyes, she let her werewolf hearing span the surroundings. The crunch of snow footsteps were approaching, smiling she'd play this game several times with Anna, Ektor, and Mariah. Sometimes she'd let them spend a few extra minutes searching for her, breathing quietly the huff of hot air expelling forward. Inhaling into her palms, the footsteps pausing...rustling to the left, pushing a few branches a few feet farther...

"Ahhh chhhuu," Alex sneezed loudly grinning. Ektor rushing to the right, quickly sticking his hand all the way to his elbow to tag Alex. "FOUND YOU LUNA!!!" Ektor yelled jumping up and down laughing. "I WIN!" Pretending to be annoyed, Alex pouted at Ektor, "Not fair! I had to sneeze!" Ektor shook his finger at Alex, "NO NO, sneezing isn't part of the rules. I won fair and square." Ektor turned hearing his Uncle Kali. 

"OVER HERE UNCLE!" waving Ektor helped Alexandra remove some of the snow sticking to her coat. Alex thanked him with a smile. Looking around, she saw Kali and a strange woman walking beside him...Alex saw red, the woman was leaning too close to her mate grabbing his arm. 

Growling loudly Alex pushed Ektor behind her, "Stay Ektor," turning toward the woman Alex growled possessively. "TAKE.YOUR.HAND.OFF.HIM." Alexandra ordered. Ektor whimpered behind her, not understanding why Alex became so scary. Anna and Mariah standing nearby stopped, eyes wide. Kali and Sabrina also stopped, Sabrina narrowing her eyes at Alexandra. 

"And if I don't?" Sabrina chided, clucking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. Straight faced, adding fuel to the fire.

Alexandra's wolf pushed forward, bones crackling and extending. Alexandra's wolf charged toward Sabrina, stopping an inch. Fangs dripping saliva, a thunderous growl exploded shaking the bushes and making the snow caps fall. Kali linked Alex, "She is a friend, ONLY!" Kali reached out to rub the beautiful white fur, trying to sooth and calm it down.

"Princess, nice to finally meet you. I'm Sabrina, head witch of the Witches Coven. Although, you are a magnificent wolf there's no need for jealousy, Alpha Black is marked. Even if I wanted to, I can't take him from you." Sabrina tongue in cheek gave Alexandra a bright smile.

Can I trust this witch? Alexandra's wolf kept growling low. Calming down slowly as Kali gently rubbed behind her ears and neck.

Sabrina craned her neck pensive as if reading Alex mind, "Our relationship is based on duty and loyalty to our respective domains. There's more than just a rogue after you, Princess Alexandra." 

Relaxing into Kali's embrace, Alex shift back into her human form. Ektor closing his eyes making sure not to peak at his naked Luna passed Kali her coat. Ektor, Anna, and Mariah stood beside Alexandra and their uncle dumbfound by the witch. It was their first time meeting one in the flesh, Anne only saw the twin witches through dreams. It was nice to finally meet Sabrina, Anne hesitated before interrupting.

"Are you here to break the protection spell hiding the rogue's whereabouts?" Anna questioned, looking at her uncle frowning down at her. Anne shrugged, oh well...it has to be asked. Otherwise why would such a high ranking witch be in their home territory. Did she know about her sister Morgana? 

"Yes, little Anna. To catch the rogue," her eyes looked deep into Anna's eyes. Anna shruddered, feeling as if the witch was digging through her thoughts.

Embarrassed Alexandra faced Sabrina, "My apologies. My wolf overreacted."

Sabrina shrugged, "No need, Princess. Can we walk together for awhile, there's questions I have regarding your journey to Blackblood." Sabrina gestured to Kali, "Perhaps you can take the triplets for awhile."

Kali nodded, took his coat off and wrapped Alexandra with it. "Don't stay long, I'll have lunch in an hour ladies. Let's go kids, back home to do chores." Kali gathered the three, turning them toward the house. The triplets groaned, they hated doing chores. 

Alexandra had never seen a witch. Her parents consulted one regularly but they couldn't. The palace witch wished to remain anonymous. away from the royal grounds the witch was rumored to live deep in the woods. The witch was given a place in exchange for protection of the lands, yet the Lycans destroyed her home. Alex couldn't come to terms with this, there's no way she could trust witches. She tried to block her thoughts from Sabrina.

"There are good and bad witches, Princess Alexandra. The dark ones are cunning, evil, and enjoy inflicting pain. The white ones are the opposite. My twin sister and I are white witches, our powers stem from all that's life and flourishes on earth. This includes positive energy from animals, humans, and werewolves. Even halfling vampires can be a source of energy. Death creates cracks, splintering our witch heart little by little until some of us go rogue, too. We are not so different from werewolf or vampires. I've known Kali since he was in diapers, I am 250 years young..." Sabrina smirked, watching Alex carefully. 

"I judged you wrong, please forgive me Sabrina." Kali suddenly linked Alexandra, reassuring her Sabrina meant no harm.

"You're forgiven. You have reasons not to be trusting, and your a new werewolf bride. If anyone was holding my man I'd turn them into a baby...pig...maybe...uhhmm, well...Princess Alexandra, no need to feel ashamed now...it's just a bit of lover's spat. Been there, done that. Where was I? Oh yes...shifting. Have you felt your aura, Alexandra?" 

"What do you mean?" frowning. 

Sabrina sighed, "Your wolf aura. Isn't it strange it's so strong. What does it remind you of?"

Alexandra frowned, "I'm of royal blood, my aura will be strong. I don't see what's the big deal."

"It is a big deal, your not just royal by birth but your THE ROYAL WOLF!" Sabrina snapped. "I'm surprised your wolf hasn't said anything to you." 

The snow began falling heavier now, coating their hair in snowflakes.

"My parents never allowed me to shift. I shifted for the first time a few months ago during my eighteenth birthday. I was so nervous I just never had this conversation with my wolf." Alexandra shook her head, her wolf was infact asleep for a few weeks. She hadn't stirred awake until today when she almost pounced on Sabrina. 

"I see, well let's go eat lunch. The snow is falling heavier, we will continue to discuss this indoors. Princess, you have a special wolf which will require you to be brave and intelligent in your decisions. The Royal Wolf is an Alpha, an Alpha that rules over other Alpha's. You're also with child,..." Sabrina snapped her fingers and took Alexandra's hand resting it to her womb.

"Hear the heart beats. Twins." Sabrina's eyes turned completely white. New life gave her such a surge of electrifying energy. 

"Oh Moon Goddess!  I can HEAR MY PUPS!" Alexandra exclaimed overjoyed. "How is this possible!"

Sabrina winced, "Really, Princess? How?! Nobody taught you s*x ed 101?" feeling a tad bit sorry seeing Alex blush profusely red Sabrina explained, "Your Alpha senses perked up the moment I said your pregnant."

Alexandra opened and closed her mouth not able to produce any words. 

"Yes, usually female werewolves can't actually hear their pups heartbeats or literally talk with their developing pups but you can. You are the royal wolf, try talking to your unborn children Princess."

Closing her eyes Alexandra whispered in her mind, "Hello my babies, Mommy is so happy," smiling..."oh moon goddess! they replied back! 

"Mommy! Mommy why is it so cold!" her twin pups whined.

Laughing, Sabrina teleported them next to the fireplace burning softly in the livingroom. "Princess, welcome to motherhood!" with that, Sabrina made floral bouquets appear in soft pinks, oranges, and yellows...

Smiling, Alexandra ran towards the flores..."Thank you Sabrina, you have given me the best birthday or wedding present ever!!!" giggling as now teddybears starting popping up.

"Thanking me? It's Kali who did the deed, I just made the announcement!" with that, Sabrina teleported them to the dining table. "I'm famished!"
