Chapter 11: Newlyweds

Kali had moved himself and Alexandra into his second house on the lands. They would be alone together for a few weeks to become adjusted as newlyweds. He still attended his pack duties and she was able to visit the triplets and train. The packhouse was also available for them. Usually, they walked for breakfast every morning to the packhouse. 

Also, his Luna was getting stronger with each training session. They mindlinked, usually he'd say something to make her blush or runaway from him. He'd laugh at her shyness. She was not shy at all in bed!

In bed she was everything he dreamed of and more. She had a silly side, too. Sometimes, tickling him or making a joke of his big body versus her tiny one. No matter what, she is perfect for him. 

"Alpha, we found evidence of trespassing near the south points. Someone is trying to make it into our territory. We tried to detect the scent but its so faint, they tried to cover their tracks. Perhaps, you can take a sniff yourself. The guard Gerald believes it may be a rogue wolf. It does not smell as bad as a Lycan." Marcus intruded Kali's thoughts.

"I will go with Luna, if it's a scent she knows from her pack she could tell us. Get five guards to come with us, I'll go get our Luna ready for the search. We'll meet by the first military training ground. We will shift. "

Kali internally sighed. He knew they would eventually come across danger. His pack was well trained to fight any attack, but now he has Alex. If someone was smart enough to trespass undetected to kidnap his Luna or the triplets....

That person will die.

Just the thought of this happening made him bare his werewolf fangs in anger. He tried calming down before reaching Alex. She must not think his temper is due to something she did wrong. 

"Alpha, what's wrong?" she asked as soon as he was near. 

How did she know there was something wrong? Hmm...damn. Of course! She can sense it because she's my mate. When I'm mad or hurt she will sense it. 

"A guard detected a faint new scent, perhaps a rogue trying to come into our lands. How do you feel about coming with us to investigate. You can use your sensory abilities to try assisting us?" he asked.

Alexandra frowned, a bit nervous but determine to not show it. She stepped forward and tried smiling, "No problem, let's go." They waited a few minutes until the rest of the group arrived. 

Kali took her hand and kissed her palm. "Don't worry, I'll be beside you plus the guard. Don't feel afraid, we do routinely check along the borders for trespassers. If its nothing serious we will not detain or harm the person. Ok?" he explained.

Alexandra tried to calm her nerves. Was she afraid? Hell Yes. She had just escaped the Lycan army who destroyed her pack. What if they sent a spy or rogue to track her whereabouts? 

They shifted in the woods, Alex's wolf left the rest awestruck once again. Her beauty was out-worldly. They all thought how lucky his Alpha was to have found his mate, but also that her wolf was so unique. It was a silver wolf, daughter of the Moon Goddess. 

It made the pack members proud to have her as Luna. If rumors are true, being a silver wolf gives her powerful abilities almost magical in nature. She can reincarnate and self-heal faster than anyone. 

One guard even rumored to have seen her tears reflect like diamonds. 

No one wanted to doubt that their Luna was one of a kind.

"Marcus, flank your Luna...she and I will do first you stay 10 feet away from us." Kali ordered.

Alexandra's wolf perked her ears. Hmmmm....interesting...Selene can you smell that? It's so faint but it smells familiar...like we crossed this smell before...Selene? I'm sniffing! It's a disgusting odor, it makes my nose twitch! Like burnt egg and ...and...sniff...sniff...sneeze...that must be alcohol. Some strong alcohol chemical. It's used to disguise the scent.

Cobalt, hey...stop trying to distract Selene. I know your head over heels for her, but this is important! What can you smell Cobalt? "Whooppppsss....dang. Whoever it is smells of rotten eggs!!! whew! No s**t Cobalt, even I can smell the eggy part...what else?...uuhmmm...well, Selene already beat me to it. She says its Alcohol...used to mask the scent. But let me get closer....

Selene and Cobalt start to go crazy sniffing along the border and up a tree trunk...yes! the person climbed to the tree branch..."Cobalt, of course a human didn't climb up that far my hunky wolf...it's a rogue...Selene jumps on her paws, pouncing playfully on Cobalt...Cobalt is so surprised he just let's Selene dig her lovely sharp claws into his chest....ohhhh....Selene....you bad girl!

Selene rubs her nose against his neck scenting him. Cobalt returns the favor, scenting her back.

Ook ok...guys! LISTEN!!! We promise you can have time together, but right now we need to focus. If it's a rogue...is it a scent you remember?

Selene quiets down...eyes turn flaming purple...she bares her teeth.

"KALI! It's him! It's the rogue from the boat helping the Lycans!!! I thought he had died!!" Alex yelled.

Now they knew, the tracker found Alex. 

Over his dead body he was going to allow the Lycans to take his mate away. 

Over his dead body he was going to allow his brother to take what belongs to him.

This meant war.

Kali signaled Marcus, it was time to prepare for battle. 

He will have to inform The Red Circle and the witches about this. Somehow, his instincts told him this was no mere fight for pack status. For his brother to be on the enemy side, to abandon his triplets, and now the King and Queen of the Vampires to send them to him after five years...all this just didn't add up to a mere coincidence. 

It is then it clicked...Lieutenant Victorio did not tell him the complete truth. And the triplets seem to have known all along that Alex would come to him.

What else did the triplets know? What were they hiding in their little heads...

Kali let out a deep growl in frustration.
