You Belong To Me

/-Skylar-/ This had to be a cruel joke. I turned eighteen and waited eagerly for my mate but Aria didn't pick him up and now, two years later when I already found myself a charming boyfriend, I was suddenly mated? ‘Let’s go, Skylar, we're going to lose him if you keep whining,’ Aria cried impatiently. Whining? She was the one whining! I followed the scent and Aria's excitement pushed me into a run. I went through the courtyard and finally found myself in the garden. There was no one there but the scent was incredibly strong and overwhelming. He was here somewhere! “Looking for someone, little one?” My entire body stiffened as the rich silky tone filtered into my ears. 'Mate!’ Aria leaped again but I didn't turn around. This had to be a cruel joke. The man who rejected me five years ago was now my mate? The goddess had to be pranking me! He took a step forward and I could feel his presence engulf me. The air was thick with his pheromones and I found myself melting. “You didn't answer my question, Sky,” his sizzling breath hit the back of my neck causing every single strand of hair there to stand. No, Skylar! You can't let him do this to you again! He doesn't love you. He's your mother's husband! I moved away from him, whipping around to glare at him. Those knowing seafoam eyes made me breath hitch, but if he thought I was going to give in to the bond and have him reject me the second time? Then he had another thing coming. “I am the Princess of this pack. I can go anywhere I want. I don't need your permission!” I said coldly and made to walk past him. “You feel it, don't you?” Adonis said suddenly and I froze in my tracks. “I can smell your desires from a mile away.” My fists clenched as anger seeped through my veins. “Desires?” I whipped my head to look at him. “You must be full of yourself to think that just by leaking pheromones, you managed to stir anything in me!” My words caught him off-guard but then he chuckled. A dark, humorless chuckle. “We both know that I don't need pheromones to get you on your knees, Skylar,” he smirked and my blood ran cold. “But then again, that is not what I am talking about,” he huffed and I knew immediately it was the bond. Of course he would feel it. “Fine! I'll make this snappy because I have a boyfriend to get back to…” I said and it appeared again. That irritating amusement in his eyes. “You can laugh all you want but Dwayne is a much better man than you will ever be!” I spat. “Is he now?” His amusement deepened. “You know, five years away, I thought you might have done better for yourself but all you could settle for was a lowly omega?” I was stunned, then furious. How dare he?! Who the hell did he think he was to analyse my life! “First of all, you have no right to give your opinions about the affairs of my life! Secondly, Dwayne is a Beta, not an omega. Get your facts right!” Adonis took a few steps towards me, until he was towering me. I tried not to be intimidated by his height or his closeness. Even though I could feel my heart hammering against my chest. The way his beautiful eyes pierced into mine, like he could see through my soul. “You are still too naive for your own good, Sky,” his tone softened. “You have grown beautifully, yet you are still that little girl I knew years ago. Thinking with her heart, rather than her head, making rash decisions without caring about the consequences and jumping into conclusions that suit her.” I could feel my blood boiling but then he caressed my cheek softly and I felt the anger melting away. I hated that he still had this effect on me. “Little fairy,” he chuckled, “Your little boyfriend is lying to you. Even a newly turned wolf can smell he is an omega, so how is it that you, an Alpha princess, would let that leech close enough to brainwash you?” I snapped out of my daze and slapped his hand away. “I won't stand here and listen to you talk about Dwayne that way. So what if he lied to me? What if he is an omega? How is any of that your business? You didn't think twice before marrying my mother! Why should I care about what you think?” I spat. The words caught him off-guard. He looked like he was going to say something but then he straightened up. “Very well then. This should be quick…” he muttered and my heart sank. He was going to reject me again. My heart clenched tightly but I told myself I wasn't going to let him put me through that pain again. ‘Whatever you're trying to do, don't do it, Skylar,’ Aria warned but I ignored her. She didn't know this man. She wasn't there when he crushed my heart. I knew that look in his eyes and I wasn't going to give him that chance again. “I'll save you the trouble,” I said. “I, Skylar Ivanna Jonas, reject you, Alpha Adonis Jonas as mate!” His face turned expressionless. I waited for him to accept the rejection so we could both feel the pain and move on but nothing like that happened. “Are you done?” He asked instead and I blinked in shock. “Huh?” Wasn't that what he wanted? To reject me? Or was it an ego thing? He wanted to be the one to reject me so he could brag about rejecting me twice? Adonis closed the space between us and lifted my face with his index finger. “Now this is what is going to happen. First thing tomorrow morning, you are going to put that little boyfriend of yours on a flight back to where he crawled out from while you will remain here with your mother and I. Understood?” His icy tone sent a terrifying chill down my spine. “Who the hell do you…” “Do I think I am?” He completed with a cold smirk. “I am your Alpha and you will obey me. You know why?” I wanted to argue, fight him, but something about the dominance he exerted forced me to submit. So I shook my head. “Because from now on, you, Skylar Ivanna Jonas, belong to me.”
