Finding peace

I sat in the hospital room holding the newly birthed pup. Aurora was tiny. Even for a newborn. Her clothes had been sewn in to fit her better. The small delicate lace and light pink fabric was falling around her. Her bright eyes and small lips barely opened. The doctor judged that she was almost 2 months early. Surprisingly she was just small. She passed every test otherwise. I looked at the pink bundle and sighed. Look at the mess I put myself into. Having a baby only a couple months old, holding a newborn I now need to find a foster family for, and possibly pregnant again.....I thought about my mother. She handled the triples just fine. She was strong and resilient. She always smiled and made time for each of us. The doctor walked in then. Her head lowered and she shuffled her paperwork.
