Lunch with a friend

I stood on the front steps pacing. Jared had linked me over an hour ago saying he picked up his luna. He also Informed me that if she didnt not want to have lunch with me he would be taking her to the back door. I was starting to worry my mate the only woman for me didnt want me. I was about to storm inside when I heard Jared driving up in the pack suv. I watched in complete awe as my mate stepped from the vehicle. I saw how her hair was curled and her skin painted flawlessly in color. Her eyes popped against the dress I swore I had seen Syndi making in her room the other day when I went to get Charles for our patrol. He refused to leave his mate alone without me, Jared or himself to watch her while he did patrol. I couldnt blame him, his whole life is his mate and that pup. She wasnt even showing yet. They had just made the announcement 1 week after Jared's mate disappeared. The pain he went through was horrible. He was good at hiding it though. Mindy had been the girl he had dreamed of. They had always gotten along and they were so happy.

Vixon looked up at me. She looked panicked.

" Are you ready for lunch? "

I held up my arm for her. It all came down to this. If she took my arm I could do my best to fix this. However if she decided not too. Well I couldn't think of that. I gave her a smile and leaned down towards her. She hesitated before she looked at me. Her eyes full of sadness.

" I dont think I'm ready to touch you "

I faulted my smile, I caught myself though. I lowered my arm and stood up straight. She may not want to touch me now, but maybe one day.

" That's okay but you will join me for lunch. Its just lunch with a friend. "

She looked as if she was thinking. Then she nodded her head. Her hands holding themselves infront of herselve. I grabbed the picnic basket and started walking towards the woods behind the pack house. She kept up with me and soon we were in the clearing about 50 feet away. A small stream ran through the clearing and I saw her smile at the view. I threw a small blanket onto the ground and placed the basket in the center. She waited till I sat down before she also sat down. Her body seemed calm and collected. I opened the basket and handed her a glass before I lifted a bottle of wine. Her eyes grew large and she started to panick. She pushed her selves away from me with her feet.

" I cant drink that! "

I dropped the bottle trying to reach and hold her to calm her down. The touch of a mate is supposed to calm down the mate. She went into a complete panick, tears falling down her face. Her arms wrapping around herself. She pulled her knees as close as possible.

" Please stop dont touch me! go away! It hurts! "

Her eyes were glazed over and she was rocking back and forth. I felt a sudden pain in my heart. I was feeling her pain. She was hurting and I didn't know why. Her body was shaking as she cried harder.

" Vixon... Vixon I wont touch you, please calm down. I dont want to hurt you. Vixon please talk to me "

She looked around and I looked up to see her moving closer to me. Her body pressing against mine. She held onto my shirt i could feel her calming down. I wrapped my arms around her slowly. Just trying to keep her calm. Her body tensed against my touch.

" Look Vixon if your not ready to be my mate will you just be my friend. We can take this slow, We can do whatever you need to make this work. I can be your friend and when your ready I can be more. I will do anything I need to do to keep you safe. "

I felt her relax into my chest. I held her tightly. She started snoring lightly. I looked down at her sleeping softly. I picked her up. So much for lunch. I carried her oit of the woods and to the pack house. I got her up to the room. Laying her down on bed. I covered her with the blanket and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

" I will wait for you forever "

I stood up and left the room, I headed to my office and started working on the paperwork I needed to catch up on. The phone rang and I saw the number. Sighing I picked up the phone and in a grumble answered.

" Carmon to what do I owe this unpleasant conversation. "

I could feel the soft sheets around me when I woke up. I couldnt believe I freaked out like that and Infront of Jenson none the less. I cried and had jumped I to his arms to calm down. I thought back to him holding me. It had felt so nice and I remembered his words.

" we can just be friends, I'll wait forever "

I wondered how much of that was true. How long he would wait. I ran my hand over my belly. The hard bump sticking out a little bit pass my pants. I knew I couldnt stop the growing pup. Even if the pup was not from my mate I couldnt allow them to take its life. This pup did not ask for this. My maternal instincts had kicked in from that day in the hospital. Thankfully the doctor waited till Jared had stepped out to get food. I had begged her not to tell anyone. Luckily she had been a doctor from another pack and agreed to come back for my pups appointments. I knew I couldnt keep my pup and Jenson. I heard the door opening and moved my hand from my bump. Jenson walked into the room holding a tray of food.

" Good your awake! how did you sleep? "

I looked at him wondering what he was thinking.

" Fine, um I'm sorry for what happened. I just havent been myself since...well since everything. "

He smiled at me.

" Its okay, as I said I will wait for you "

I looked at him. My mouth moved before I could think anything I said through.

" You wont stay once you find out. "

I closed my mouth. My face burning.

" Do you have a boyfriend? "

Jenson looked at me seriously but his lips were trying not to crack into a smile.

" No I never dated I wanted to wait for my mate. "

He raised an eyebrow.

" Do you think I'd turn you away if I found put you werent pure and innocent, Sadly my dear I am not either. I had others but you will be the last woman I love and care for. No matter what I will be here for you. Even if it's just a friend. "

I looked at him. His hand on my knee. He would only love me til lthe learned I was carrying another mans pup. It wasnt even a man I loved. It was a man I hated and wanted dead. I grabbed his hand.

" If you can prove your words I'll agree to a date, until then we are only friends. I would also like my own room. Friends dont share a room. Plus I need a job. I need my own money. "

He took a deep breath.

" I will move to the room next door. You can sleep here. As for a job, I cant allow it. "

I wanted to protest but he held a hand up to continue.

" Your doctor called the house earlier and requested i not allows you to do any patrols or hard work. She wouldnt tell me why just that your still recovering. As your mate i cant allow you to go against the doctors orders. As for money that card is yours. As my mate that makes you a future Luna. You can use my card for anything you want. If you want I can give you the code to get cash from the bank. Then your purchases cant be traced. If you really think you need that. "

I sat up on the bed, I needed to get stuff for the baby. However I couldnt possibly buy the stuff and hide it here. I looked at him. My brain trying to figure something out.

" I would like an office, I need to get back to getting my pack back up. I also need to know if anyone survived. "

He looked at me. His hand in his hair.

" I can do an office, however your pack grounds have been collected by the council. I couldnt stop them from putting some guards there to stop other alphas from taking it. "

I felt my throat closing. I lost my home. The council would never give me my home back now. A female Alpha was hardly known of let alone an Aloha with no pack. Jenson gripped my hand.

" We can still go get your stuff. We can talk to them. Maybe we can get it back. We can try. "

I appreciated his words but I just didnt see how it would help. I looked up at him.

" I want to go get all my things. I dont know how I could possibly get my land back with no pack. "

He let my hand go and gave me a quick hug.

" I'm going to call the council and see if we can go tomorrow. Will that be okay with you? "

I nodded my head. He walked into his closet and started grabbing things. I felt bad, it was like I was kicking him out of his own room. He walked over to the wall and pushed the wall open to the next room. I looked at him in confusion.

" When I was a kid my father built this pack house and I jokingly told him I wanted a room that had a hidden door going into the next room. So he did it. He would have loved you. "

I saw him fighting tears. I found myself being pulled towards him, before I knew it my arms were wrapping around him.

" What happened to your father. "

He held my hands in his. My chest against his back.

" Cancer, He didnt tell anyone other than mother. She took it hard. Mickey wouldnt leave her room for a week. "

I thought back to the girl that I had spent my morning with. I realized I already loved so many new people. I let go of Jenson. How could I love him while I held another mans pup. He turned to me. His fingers tracing on my face.

" May I kiss you even for just a second. "

His request caught me off guard. He leaned in slowly. Giving me plenty of time to say no. Did I want to say no. Could I say no. His lips brushed against mine and my need to have my mate took over. I pulled him closer. His body melted into mine. His tounge asked for access to my mouth and I gladly opened my mouth. I felt his hands on me, my sides my hair, my back, I felt him gently grab my hips and I pushed him back.

" I cant.... "

He looked at me with lust but still smiled.

" I'm just happy with a kiss. I told you I will wait, whatever hurt you will not stop my love for you. "

With that promise he kissed my forehead and retreated to his room. I laid in the bed and I started crying. I cant be with my mate and keep my pup. I laid there wondering if I was making a mistake and that's when I felt a soft kick in my body. My pup was moving already. I cried harder. I didnt know if I could choose between the two greatest things in my life. I knew it wouldnt be long and my scent would change and I knew when it did my mate would leave me, reject me and never look back.
