Remus froze when he saw Erin, clearly surprised. After a brief, awkward glance in her direction, he turned and went back into his room, leaving the door open this time.
The woman hurried in after him. "Remus, please, listen to me! I didn't mean it. Can't you give me another chance? It's been so hard to see you again, and now you're treating me like this?"
With a loud slam, Remus shut the door, but his muffled voice, still filled with frustration, reached Erin. "Enough!"
Erin knew she shouldn't be listening, so she quietly closed her own door, pretending nothing had happened.
Around six in the morning, the woman seemed to have left. Not long after, Erin received a text from Remus: "Come over, let's talk?"
She hesitated but couldn't resist her curiosity and decided to go.
