When they returned to the beach, Remus, noticing Erin's pink flush, winked mischievously at Brett, already knowing what had transpired.
Embarrassed, Erin wished she could disappear. She had planned to go for a swim in the sea, but Brett's passionate advances left marks all over her body. She had no option but to cover up with a long dress and a shawl.
Lily, puzzled by Erin's displeasure, asked, "What's wrong? Let's go swimming."
Erin shot Brett a fierce glare and shook her head. "I'm not going. You go ahead. Be careful."
Lily misinterpreted her look. "You even need his permission to swim? He's so overbearing! My future husband will be completely whipped by me. I'll be the one calling the shots!"
Erin quickly covered Lily's mouth. "Let's go, come on. I'll play in the water with you."
