Chapter 4

I wake up early the next morning. The sun is too bright, and I can't seem to fall back asleep. I sleepily walk downstairs, and over to the pantry to grab a muffin for breakfast. I find a comfy seat at the table and eat my muffin in peace and quiet. I stare out into the backyard, admiring the butterflies flying, and the grass sparkling with dew. "Hello Mia," an unfamiliar voice booms behind me. "What the frickballs!" I exclaim as I jump out of my seat to see who the owner of the voice is. "What the frickballs? Oh my god!" I see a shirtless Logan standing and laughing at my word choice. Wow, does he have muscles! "Sorry, I just forgot all you guys were here and it just came out of my mouth," I reply shyly, flushing in embarrassment. "Geez girl. Can you even swear?" He asks. "Well, I gue-" "Oh!" Logan gasps as he cuts me off, "I know you! You're in my math class! You're the one Mr.K picked on yesterday!" "Yup. That's me," I say sadly, hoping everyone would forget that moment. "Don't worry, I can-" He walks over to me and slings an arm over my shoulder, "Woah, you're short up close. But don't worry, I like short girls," He says as he winks at me. He takes his arm off me, and walks into the kitchen and looks for food. He leaves me red, from the close proximity of me and his major hot abs, and the flirt. What was he about to say before he found out about my height? "Where do you keep this s**t anyway?" Logan asks, his head in a random cabinet. "Uh, pantry," I manage to mumble out. "Gotcha," I sit back down, and play on my phone. Oh crap. I didn't get ready this morning. I have horrible bed head, and I'm still in my pajamas. I was about to head upstairs to look somewhat presentable, but that failed. All the other boys came pounding down the stairs. "Hey Mia!" They sing in sync. "Hey," I say grumpily. This was not the plan. "Nice look!" Alex piped, earning laughs from most of the boys. I just rolled my eyes, continuing up the stairs. As I entered my room, Haley was just waking up. "Haley. I forgot the guys were here, and they saw me like this!" "Oh honey. Let's fix you up, make you look extra nice." We went to the bathroom. Haley brushed my hair, and began to curl it. "Oh my gosh! Haley! I had a somewhat conversation with Logan!" I whisper screamed. "Are you for real?" As I nodded, she screamed. "Omigod! That's so amazing! Joey and I really hit it off. I'm just so f*****g happy right now." I smiled, and she finished off the loose curls in my hair. "There you go!" She smiled at her finished product. "Dang girl, you did that so fast." I said astonished. If I tried to curl my hair, it would take two hours. No joke. I head over to my closet, and I throw in a black lace kimono with shorts and a tank. I head over to the mirror. Good enough, I think to myself. I head downstairs and find Haley on her phone, in the front room. "Hey," I said as I plopped down by her on the couch. "Sup, so I was thinking. If you chew a bunch of packs of gum, flatten it so it's like an inch think, then place it on the end of a leaf blower, will it make a huge bubble?" She asked. "What?" I say laughing at the odd question, "Um, maybe the gum will just shoot off because of the high power." "But what if you duct tape it down?" "Haley, I have no clue. How do you even come up with odd ideas like this?" "No clue," she replies smiling. ~*~*~ We went over to the park for a little while and hung out there for a bit, making small talk. WE left around two in the afternoon, and Haley decided to see if she could go home. When the coast was clear, she went on in. As I walked back home, I saw a car slow down next to me. I glanced at the driver, but couldn't see anything because of the tinted windows. I speed up my pace. "Where you going baby?" A male voice shouted. I sighed in relief. I turned around. "Geez! Logan! I thought you were going to kidnap me!" "Never beautiful. Wanna ride back?" "Sure," I mumble, blushing from the word beautiful. We rode the quick ride in silence. "Here you are," Logan says as he put his car in park. "Thanks," I say with a smile. "Anytime, see you Monday." "Yep, bye." I hopped out of the car, shut the car door, and went over to the house. "Nice ass!" I hear Logan call as I made my way to the front door. Of course that comment made my face turn red in an instant, but I just shook my head an walked on in.
