I slowly opened my eyes and all I could see was darkness and a faint light. I looked at my surroundings and tried to remember what happened last night.
Shit, was I kidn*pped?! Yes, I was kidn*pped.
I’m in a comfy bed with both of my hands cuffed to the edge of the bed, my head is still dizzy and my hand is sore, where the hell on earth I am and who kidn*pped me?
I can actually think of a lot of perpetrators, it could be a family of the people I beat in the court, could be dad’s business competitors, could be a kidnap for ransom or could also be Aries’ competitors.
“Hello?! Anyone there?! Whoever you are, show yourself!”
But in all fairness, the room where I’m in right now screams luxury, not a typical warehouse where kidnappers brought their prey that you saw in movies.
“For a lawyer, you’re tackles and loud. ”
I felt like my breathing hatch when the door slowly opened and I heard a cold baritone voice speak up.
“W-Who are you? What do you want from me? ”
I stared at him intently, I can’t see his face but his body illuminated by the rays of the faint light, his shadow extending against the ground.
My eyes slowly roam his body, even in shadow, his perfect physique is evident, silhouetting his chiseled form.
His broad shoulders and muscular body are still visible against the dark backdrop of his shadow, and he commands attention with his confident and powerful stance, his sheer presence radiating authority and strength. Even in shadow, I cannot help but be drawn to the sheer perfection of his physique.
“Eyes up here young lady”
I quickly looked away as I gulped. Dang it, what’s happening to me?
“Where am I? Why did you kidnap me? Was it because of money? ”
His soft chuckle echoed through the whole room, he slowly stepped forward until he’s finally in the light and I couldn’t help but be speechless when I saw his face.
His face was chiseled, like a statue that had come to life. His eyes were a captivating shade of gray, that felt like they were looking straight into the very depths of my soul when we locked eyes. His nose was perfectly pointy, complementing his sharp features, while his jawline was so angular it was almost like a work of art. It was like seeing a perfect demigod walk among mere mortals.
“Money? I have a lot of those. ”
His cold voice complements his cold eyes.
“T-Then what do you want?! ”
His steps echoed through the whole room as he went near me. His presence was so overbearing and his gaze so intense, I felt like a deer in headlights.
I didn’t know what to say or how to behave around him. All I could do was to stay silent and avoid looking directly at him, as I felt so overcome with anxiety.
Dang it, I’ve never been this nervous even when I’m in a court trial.
I gulped when he suddenly raised his hands. I did my best not to look at him but he held my chin and lifted it. He stared at me for a minute before speaking.
“How beautiful, just wish that your fiance will do as I say or I will have no choice but to dispose of you.”
“Fiance? This is about Aries?! ”
He just put his finger in his lips signaling me to shut up as he took his phone from his pocket and called someone.
My heart beat faster, am I really going to die? What did Aries do? What does he want from him? And why is he using me? I know Aries, he may be a gentleman but he won't hesitate to sacrifice someone just to have his way.
“Your life depends on your Fiance's response so pray that he will be a good boy, okay? ”
I was about to say something when I heard Aries' voice on the other line.
“What is it again, brother? ”
B-Brother? I looked at the man with confusion but he's not looking at me, I saw how his grip on his phone tightened.
“Don't call me that, bastard.”
“Give it a rest, will you? It's already night and I'm enjoying my time here, don't be such a disturbance. ”
“Enjoying your time? Don't you wonder if your fiance is also enjoying her time? ”
“Tsk, why are you mentioning her all of a sudden?”
I don't know what to expect but in my heart, I know I'm hoping that Aries will come save me. But, will he really?
“Talking to you is such a waste of time so I'll get straight to the point. Give up, or I will kill your beloved fiance. ”
I'm scared that I could feel my stomach churning and my heart pounding; I swallowed hard, trying to gulp down my nerves, but the feeling remained.
Both me and the man waited for Aries' response but all we heard was his laugh from the other line.
“Give up? No way, you can kill anyone around me but you can't expect me to give up. Scarlet is in your hand? Then kill her, I don't care, she's not worth it. And besides, I already have what I need from her. I already have their company, she's useless to me now. ”
I looked up after hearing his answer, preventing my tears from falling.
The pain was immense, but the hate was greater. I felt a burning rage inside me towards Aries, and I wanted nothing more than to make him feel the same pain he had inflicted upon me.
My hatred filled my heart and mind. Every ounce of my being was focused on seeking vengeance against him but what else can I do?
“You're gonna regret forsaking her Aries. ”
“The only regret I had was wasting two years being with her, if it weren't for her stupid dad I wouldn't have a hold in their company. ”
“Do whatever you want to her my brother, you're powerful, her family won't be able to do anything against you, you're actually doing me a favor here, so I must thank you and oh, before killing her, I suggest you own her first. That girl is a virgin ”
I felt my fist clenching so much as my heart, instead of pain I felt anger. That man, he betrayed me! I should have known that everything we had was fake. How can I be so stupid?!
I was startled when I felt someone touch my cheeks and when I looked up it was the man, his emotion didn't change but I could see a slight anger in his eyes. Was it because he wasn't able to get what he wanted?
“How can he throw something so precious that gold? ”
Is he talking about me?
“You heard how your fiance betrayed you but I'm shocked because you only shed a single tear, you're a tough girl. ”
Oh? Is that why he touched my face? To wipe my tears?
He opened the drawer beside the bed and took something, it's the key. He held my wrist and unlocked the cuff. His touch is gentle, but why? Why is he unlocking my handcuffs? Wasn't he supposed to kill me already?
“Rest for a bit, I'll be back. Don't do something stupid.”
I was left speechless and dumbfounded, confused about what's going on but the moment he closed the door I couldn't hold it in any longer, I just let the tears flow freely and gave in to the pain.

I don't know how many minutes have passed since I've been doing nothing but just staring at the ceiling. I was just knocked back through my senses when someone opened the door.
I know he's standing right beside my bed but I refused to look at him. Is this finally my time to die? Dang it, now that I think about it I've never done anything fruitful in my life, I've been nothing but a—
“Eat.”
My thought was cut when a deep baritone voice spoke. I looked at him and the tray in his hands that is full of food. I can feel my stomach rumbling because I have not eaten since yesterday night.
“What's this? You're gonna feed me first before killing me or is the food poison?”
He just looked at me with cold eyes and put the food on the table before sitting on the couch next to me with his legs crossed.
“I won't kill you. ”
My eyes instantly looked at him. No, he must have something he wants in return. If he's actually Aries' brother then he must be also ruthless, pr
obably worse.
“What's the catch? ”
His lips curved into smirk.
“I won't kill you if you agree to marry me. ”
“Huh?”
