Alex was waiting for Callum when he came back to the farm. “Charlie’s back. He brought this.” Callum opened the letter. “We’ve been ordered to Stirling, where we’ll receive further orders.”
Alex nodded. “’Tis just as well. You and Hughie have enjoyed yourselves here, but it’s been blindingly boring for Charlie and me.”
Alex c****d an eyebrow. “From what I’ve observed, you and Charlie have managed to cope.”
