His hand slowly lifted from my throat, but his eyes never left mine. He kept his other hand on my wrist for a bit longer, until he was sure that I wasn’t here to kill him.  “I never did hear what became of merry Marigold.” He said. “I told Edric to ensure you died.” “It seems like everyone instructs Edric to do that and he keeps failing.” I said, not being able to suppress the laugh. He grinned too and finally stepped away from me, so his awful stench was at least a bit further away and could no longer cloud my thoughts.
