He Owns Me

“Need a hand escaping?” The voice slid into the room like a blade dipped in silk, and Lilian froze halfway out the window, her fingers locked white-knuckled around the cold metal beam, her heart slamming against her ribs like something trying to break free. That voice couldn’t be real, she told herself, even as she turned her head slowly He was there, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed. She didn’t recognize him, though the question rose immediately and viciously in her mind — was this the one who had bought her? He didn’t look like a monster, and somehow that was worse, because monsters were supposed to wear fangs and scars, something visible to warn you. He was tall and unnervingly calm, dressed in a black button-down shirt fitted to a body built more for violence than comfort, his sleeves rolled to the elbow. Shadows seemed to cling to him even where the light should have reached, his jaw sharp, his eyes that pinned her in place - dark, intelligent, and cold. “Going somewhere?” he asked, amusement threading through the question like this was nothing more than a game to him. “Get away from me!” she snapped, trying to savor what felt like her last second of freedom, but her foot slipped against the ledge and a scream tore out of her as she pitched backward into empty air. She never hit the ground though because arms caught her midair, strong and solid, carrying with them a scent of smoke and danger that filled her lungs before she could think to hold her breath. For one suspended moment she hung frozen in his grip, one arm banded tightly around her waist, the other braced against her thigh as if she weighed nothing at all to him, and she found she couldn’t breathe. He didn’t let go right away instead he stared down at her like he was studying her for some seconds. Then, as smoothly as he had caught her, he released her, and she stumbled back, catching herself against a marble pillar and yanking the sheer fabric of her dress over her thighs as though that small gesture could undo any of it. He said nothing but simply turned his back on her and walked toward the bar with the unbothered calm of a man. He uncorked a bottle of wine, dark red and glinting under the crystal light, and poured two glasses without asking whether she wanted one, setting hers down as though she had ever had a choice in anything that night. “You should thank me,” he said, without looking up She blinked, caught off guard, “For what?” He lifted his glass, took a slow sip, and finally looked at her and she hated the way his gaze traveled the length of her body like he was committing it to memory. “For spending a hundred million dollars,” he said, “to save you from a worse fate, though that depends on how well you behave” She swallowed hard, hating how calm he was, hating that her own body wouldn’t stop trembling even as her mind refused to be quiet-the humiliation of the stage, the lights, the tears she refused to think about, and now this, him? “Why did you buy me?” she asked, softer this time. He smiled slowly before answering, “Because I saw what I wanted” He took a step forward, and though she stayed perfectly still, her stomach dropped anyway. “And when I want something, I don’t ask for it”, His voice had dropped to a low rumble now, close against her, “I take it” He offered her the second glass. She didn’t move to take it, “You will warm my bed,” he said, quietly, intimately. “When and how I want it” She flinched, and he noticed but he seemed to like it. Here’s a more charged, dramatic version with escalated tension and physical presence, still fading to black before the line gets crossed: “And if I’m satisfied?” His voice dropped lower, almost gentle, which made it so much worse than if he’d snarled the words. He set the wine glass down without breaking her gaze and closed the last of the distance between them in a single unhurried step. One hand rose to cup her jaw, tilting her face up to his with a control that left no room for argument, while the other settled at the small of her back, splayed wide, pulling her in until there was no space left between them at all. “Then you’ll learn…”, he said “that surviving me is its own kind of mercy” Lilian’s hands came up instinctively, pressing flat against his chest to put distance between them, and found only unyielding muscle beneath the black fabric, his heartbeat steady and unbothered under her palm while her own thundered out of control. He didn’t move away. If anything, the resistance seemed to please him, his eyes darkening as they dropped to her mouth and lingered there with an intent that made her stomach twist into knots she didn’t have a name for. Her legs had already started to give out beneath her, the room tilting at the edges, the warmth of him the only steady thing left in a world that had stopped making sense hours ago. She felt his arm tighten around her waist, catching her before she could fall The last thing she registered was his voice, low against her temple, almost tender.
