Less than an hour later, Amaris proudly admired the result of her work.
On a tray, she had carefully arranged sliced fruit, honey-covered toast, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
“I don’t think it turned out too badly,” she said with satisfaction.
The maid who had stayed to help her smiled.
“It turned out very well, Luna Amaris.”
Amaris picked up the tray and returned the smile.
“Thank you for putting up with me in the kitchen.”
The maid immediately shook her head.
“It was an honor to have you here. No one from the Alpha family ever comes into the kitchen the way you just did.”
Those words made Amaris smile.
“Then you’d better get used to it. You’ll be seeing me more often.”
The maids smiled at her response as she left the kitchen.
