Kael stared at her after that kiss.
Then he pulled back just a few inches and let out a sigh that seemed heavier than all the years he had carried on his shoulders.
“And now what kind of tantrum are you going to throw?” he asked. “Are you planning another one after this?”
Amaris immediately burst into laughter. There was no coldness in Kael’s voice this time; instead, his words carried the hint of a smile.
“No more tantrums,” she replied. “As long as you tell me every day that you love me.”
