My uncle seems very pleased. "I am pleased to hear that. Now...Are you ready for your coronation?" He said with a smile.
I wanted to object this, but...I cannot abandon my people just for my personal desires, I forced a smile. This is not the marriage I've been dreaming of. "If a bound with Rajahili is what Terspia needs, then I will approach king D'Mario."
My uncle seems very pleased. "I am pleased to hear that. Now...Are you ready for your coronation?" He said with a smile.
I breathe in and out and let out a puff of air. "Yes, uncle. Let us begin."
Shortly after, the rulers of various kingdoms entered the Throne room and took their seat, each with their own attendance standing behind them. Once the path was clear, each in a different colored robe, proceeds to the step above me with solemn expression.
"Our honored crowning guests, Queen megaris of xael..." Duke osmont introduced the woman. She gently nod her head
"King leoric of Maith...king D'Mario of Rajahili... And king ozer of shaadha..." Duke osmont greeted all the guests. "Welcome to Terspia. Today, we gather here to witnesses the coronation of our Queen." He said as he shifted his gaze to me. "Ellaire Gwenhevare Mathildis Ymeri, is your majesty willing to prove yourself worthy of the Terspia Throne?"
"I am willing." I said with my voice unwavering.
Duke osmont nodded approvingly and backed away, standing beside the three familiar old men I know as the Terspia council.
"Please step forward your Majesty." Advisor zlotan said. What in your opinion, do you think is the most important quality of a good ruler.
"Laws are made to tell right from wrong. As the Queen of Trespia, I must always do the right thing." I said calmly.
"While that is not wrong, a good leader must also be able to adapt. There is always an exception to every rules. After all, rules are dead, but our minds are not." The advisor said
"I understand, Advisor. Thank you for your wisdom.
Advisor zlotan gave me a reassuring a reassuring smile and gestured towards justicar vigor.
"I have another question for your majesty." The justicar started.
'The justicar is looking mean as a
Usual.' "Ask away, Justicar."
"Is every Trespia equal before the law?"
"While I do consider the Trespia Lawbook to be impartial and unbiased... The same punishment can be unfair towards different people of different statures." I replied.
"Indeed. Noblemen who refused to pay for their expensive wine often walk free after paying their fines. But peasant who cannot afford the fines are frequently imprisoned for stealing bread to feed their starving children."
"Then I shall rule wisely with my moral beliefs."
"Never let the Terspia Lawbook be your dole influence on deciding a verdict.
"I understand, Justicar. Thank you for your wisdom." I said with a nod.
Justicar vigor nooded at me with a stern expression and raised his hands at treasurer Xavier, who immediately eased my mind with a hearty smile.
"Now, your Majesty. I have one last question for you."He started with a smile. last question's are always the trickiest.
"By all means, Treasurer."
"As a ruler, how would you persuade your people to do as you desire?"
"As the Queen of Tespira, I only want what is best for my kingdom. If I can make my people understand that, they will be prone to follow my decrees." I said with a bright smile.
"A most remarkable answer, your majesty. Good rulers must be skilled In negotiation. Be fair and understanding. Listen to the voices, but never let them dominate your judgement." He sent another hearty smile to me.
"I understand, Treasurer. Thank you for your wisdom."
Justicar vigor and Treasures Xavier jointly took a step backward as advisor zlotan made is way to the throne and solemnly picked up a covered red velvet tray.
In ceremonial steps, he made his way towards Duke osmont, who earnestly removed the red clothe and presented the tray to me.
'My father's crown and the heart of Trespia...' I kneel down.
"Are you ready to take your oath before the Trespia crown your majesty?" He asks me.
"I'm ready." Duke osmont moved with care and dignity as he picture up the crown and raised it above my head. "Will you solemnly promise to oversee your land and people according to the Terspia Law and customs?"
"I solemnly promised to do so."
"Do you swear to execute your judgements in justice and mercy?"
"I solemnly swear to do."
Duke osmont placed the crown on my head. The golden rim slowly brushed down my forehead. I felt the heavy responsibilities to that Come with it's weight.
'This is my kingdom now. I shall be a good Queen and protect it with my life.'
"May the spirits grant her the courage to face her challenges ahead." Advisor Zoltan.
"May the spirit grant her the strength for this heavy burden." Justicar vigor said.
"May the spirits grant her the light and guide her through all dark places ahead." Treasurer Xavier said.
"I know proclaim Ellaire Ymeri the true and rightfull Queen of Tespira. Long may she reign!" Duke osmont announced.
I stood up and turned around, engulfed in joy. The rulers of all four kingdoms rose, nodding respectfully to me.
I nooded my head briefly to their polite gestures. 'The ceremony is not over until I leave the room. I must remain courtly.'
Duke osmont attentively opened the engraved box in the tray and presented it to me. The silver box was heafty in my hands. Inside the box lay a dried flower, so seemly frail that it could crumble from a single touch.
"Our treasure, the 'Heart of Terspia', the blossom that can cure all sicknesses, is now bestowed upon your majesty. It is the last of it's kind-- may its value in our hearts and its power in healing be an inspiration to you." He said solemnly.
I raised the box above my chest. A unique floral scent filled the air around me.
"I shall protect it with heart, uncle osmont."
Joyful fanfare rang through the open doors, breaking the stern silence as the royal guards, led by an armored knight,
Split into two straight line before me. The armored knight kneeled down.
"The royal guards of Terspia are at your service, your Majesty. From this day forth, we submit ourselves to you. We are your sword. We are your shield. Our blood is yours to spill." The captain said.
"Speaking of blood, your son is officially a Queensguard today. Congratulations captain." Duke Osmont pointed to Wyatt.
"Thank you, your highness. It is our honor to serve her Majesty." Wyatt bowed a little.
"Thank you both for your service." I thanked both the captain and Wyatt.
"Come your majesty. Your people are eager to see their new Queen."
