Queen Mi-Hee: So, I sent for you, my son, so we could have dinner together.
Do-Yun: (Takes a sip of wine from a gold cup) What about Father?
Queen Mi-Hee: He is at a meeting with his associates... So, (Pauses) Have you anything to tell Mother?
Do-Yun: (Looks at her suspiciously) No.
Queen Mi-Hee: (Clears her throat and goes straight to the point) I heard you're now dating someone...(Gasps) Prince Do-Yun, dating someone?!
Do-Yun: (Ignores her)
Queen Mi-Hee: Is it true, or it's just some rumour? (She fixes her gaze on him; wanting to find the truth)
Do-Yun: Well I guess it's all a rumour, because I am not dating someone, but courting someone...
Queen Mi-Hee: (Gasps again) Oh my goodness! This is good news!
Do-Yun: (Smiles)
Queen Mi-Hee: But, (Pauses) How could you court someone without telling me your Mother?
Do-Yun: We're still courting, so you'll know at the right time... Oops! You already know! (Laughs)
Queen Mi-Hee: (Frowns) This isn't funny, Do-Yun... Anyways, who's the lucky girl?
Do-Yun: (Stops eating. His voice becomes more serious) Her name is Sarah; she's the best woman I've ever seen...
Queen Mi-Hee: (Grimaces) Sarah? What sort of name is that? Don't tell me it's a foreign name!
Do-Yun: It is.
Queen Mi-Hee: (Shocked) So your Father was right! You really intend to break the rules of this noble family?!
Do-Yun: Mother, rules were made to be broken...
Queen Mi-Hee: Do-Yun, have you really lost your senses?
Do-Yun: No; I lost my fears... I lost the rigid doctrine you and Father have been flooding my mind with. And that's because I found love.
Queen Mi-Hee: And what do you know about loving a total stranger?!
Do-Yun: I know that Sarah is the only woman for me in this world!
Queen Mi-Hee: (Furious) Is that all?! Don't you also know that you are stepping on the toes of your Father, and breaking the rules of this noble family?!
Do-Yun: Of what use are these rules to me?!
Queen Mi-Hee: No one have ever married black!
Do-Yun: Because you all have been blind with racism and discrimination!
(Just then, King Ji-Ho walks in)
King Ji-Ho: How dare you disrespect your Mother?!
Do-Yun: You're done with the meeting so quick?
King Ji-Ho: Well, no meeting is better than meeting with my own family...
(Prince Do-Yun rises up from his seat)
Do-Yun: I never wish to discuss this with either of you again! (And he storms out in anger)
(King Ji-Ho and Queen Mi-Hee stare at each other in shock and disbelief)
Queen Mi-Hee: When has Do-Yun become so abrupt to us?! He was even rude to me, his Mother!
King Ji-Ho: (Sighs pitifully) This foreign woman has beclouded his reasoning...
Queen Mi-Hee: This isn't right at all... We can't let him continue like this. Remember he's our only heir!
King Ji-Ho: (Sighs again) We have to deal with this...
