JASON The air outside stung. I shoved my hoodie over my head and kept walking. The path behind the dorm was still wet from last night. There was mud in the cracks and fog clinging to the grass. My feet hit pavement and I picked up the pace. I didn’t want to be gone long. The diner near the main gates opened early. They sold those ridiculous triple-patty breakfast burgers. The bell above the door jingled when I stepped in. I ordered the burgers, extra sauces with fries and two lemon-lime sodas. While I waited, I pulled out my phone, thought about texting her.
