JASON The second the bell went, I was out of my seat and on her before anyone else could even get close. Kids were still shuffling out, shoving papers into bags, talking too loud about nothing important. I slipped through the crowd with my hand finding the small of her back without even thinking about it. She glanced up at me with that half smile that says you’re up to something and yeah, I was, but I wasn’t giving her the satisfaction of knowing yet.
