One second she was dancing. The next, she collapsed. Dropped like her legs had just disconnected from her body.
“Lori—hey. Lori.” I dropped to my knees beside her, slid an arm under her neck, tilted her head gently. Her body was limp, her chest barely rising.
My throat dried out on the spot. “She’s breathing,” I said, more to myself than anyone else.
Reed crouched beside me, eyes wide. “s**t! Did she hit her head?”
“No,” I said quickly. “She just... went down.”
