Hearing that, Mother was in high spirit and asked, "Really? When was the child born?"
"Just a few days ago."
"Why didn't you tell me such an important thing?" Mother asked with an excited expression. Then she took off her jade bracelet and handed it to me.
" Mom–"
"I have just come to know that I have a grand-daughter so I didn't prepare a gift for her. This bracelet is a love token that your father gave me many years ago. I'll give it to my grand-daughter as a gift," Mother said.
Father....
At the mention of him, anguish and despair overlapped my chest. His memories with me were clashing back in the back of my head and I couldn't help feeling sad.
If my father was still alive, we wouldn't have been in this miserable situation. He was my life line.
