Sitting back in my seat, I prayed Bryan saw things like I was seeing them. With a seer, they can only see a glimpse of the future. Bryan and I have always looked so similar and our names being Bryan and Brandon confused people too.
“What better way to take over than by controlling the Royal Pack,” Bryan said, as if it was a fact and not a question.
“If my theory is right, then implanting memories in order to keep us apart makes sense. If you had come back once before meeting Liv you wouldn’t have felt anything for Meredith and questioned everything.”
“f**k! This could be how they are always one step ahead of us. Why didn’t we see this before?”
“Bryan come on. Had I not been digging to try and find a way to get Kat to forgive me, I would never have started to put the pieces together. A large part of me thinks it was always meant to happen this way. How else would you have found Liv?”
The smile came back to Bryan’s face the second I said his mate's name. The love they shared was epic and I was happy he found his forever.
“Is this why you are looking for a light witch?”
“Yeah. I’m praying one will help me and tell me if they can feel the dark magic. It won’t tell us about a seer, but it will make everything else make sense. Bryan, I know I would never willingly take your mate. The more and more I stay away from the pack the more I am sure of it.”
“Do you think there could be a dark object in the pack?”
“I do, but I can’t find it. Being away almost feels like a veil has been lifted. I don’t know how to explain it.”
“I bet it’s something on the pack land. Something Meredith had a part in putting up.”
“That’s the problem. She changed so much. Without taking the packhouse and everything around it to the ground, I don’t know what else to do.”
“We will figure it out.”
My head snapped up as I looked at my younger brother with hope. Could this be the first step in us becoming a family again?
“We need a plan and so far my only plan has been trying to find a light witch and that isn’t working.” I said, hoping that Bryan would have another idea.
“We need to bring our mates in on your theory. It’s a shame that Mark is gone. This is his speciality.”
“Why did he leave?”
“His mate.” Was all Bryan said and to be honest it was all I needed to hear. I would give everything for Kat.
“How is Tiffany? I haven’t seen her since the wedding and you know she still doesn’t talk much to Mom and Dad.”
“They should be grateful. She is very pregnant and has Demetri running around at her beck and call. But to be honest, I think he loves it.” Bryan said, laughing.
“Before I leave I would like to see her. If that is OK.”
“She’s your sister too,” Bryan said, standing and heading out of the room.
I followed him to the main living area and found Tiffany with her feet up and Demetri rubbing her feet.
“Brandon! What are you doing here?” Tiffany asked with a smile.
“I would lie to you and say to see my sister, but that wouldn’t be right.”
“You are here for Kat! That is wonderful.”
“Yeah. She is pretty wonderful.”
“It’s about time you got your head out of your ahhhh.” She moaned.
“What’s wrong baby?” Demetri asked with concern in his voice.
It took her a minute to respond.
“Just a cramp. I’ve been having them all day but this one was intense.”
“Maybe we should go to the pack doctor.” Demetri said, picking up Tiffany.
“You worry too much.”
“Only about you baby.” He said, walking toward the back door.
I couldn’t help but laugh and shake my head. The Moon Goddess really did know what she was doing with mates. Demetri was perfect for my sister.
“He has his hands full.” I said, laughing.
“Not as much as you will if you ever piss off Katrina again.” Bryan said, laughing at me.
“I’m a ray of sunshine!” Kat said, walking back into the room with Luna Liv.
“That you are my sexy little Tigress.” I said, wrapping my arms around her.
I know we said we would take things slow but I could no longer fight the mate bond and I had a feeling that Kat was struggling too because she leaned into me.
“Ladies, how about we grab some lunch. We need to discuss a few things.” Bryan took Liv’s hand, pulling her to him as he kissed her lips. She giggled and Kat and I followed them into the kitchen.
During lunch, Bryan and I filled in Luna Liv, Kat, Beta Mateo and his mate Zoey the female beta, Oli, and Nadia about my theory. The entire group was silent and deep in thought. I wasn’t sure if this was a good or a bad thing.
“What about merging packs?” Kat said.
“What?” I asked, a little confused about how that would work. Usually, when packs merge, it’s because one takes over the other.
“I was thinking maybe you could move your pack here and Alpha under Bryan. There is plenty of land to build a second packhouse. Bryan would be over everybody but you could still run your pack how you see fit.”
“It’s not a bad idea,” Luna Liv added. “Your pack is currently secluded, which leaves you open to rogue attacks. If you are right about the witches, it would be safer for you to be together.”
“And the one thing they have been trying to do is keep you apart. This would be going against what they want.”
I didn’t mind the idea, to be honest. I looked over at my mate and took her hand in mine.
“I have to run it past my pack. I can’t make the choice of moving the entire pack without them being on board.”
“You could.” Beta Mateo said shrugging. “But a good Alpha would give them the choice.”
“Is that something you want?” Bryan asked me.
“I do or I would. Is it something you would want?”
Everybody turned to look at Bryan. He was looking at Luna Liv and she had a look on her face that left me confused.
