She had already decided that the only person she would tell must be the Marquis and she must see him alone.
She was certain that it would be a great mistake that anybody else, and especially the Duke, should learn what she had discovered.
She could imagine how the relations would exclaim and snigger over it and she was convinced that it must be a secret between herself and the man for whom it had been intended.
When the great door of The Castle was in sight, she saw that there was a carriage in front of it and the luggage of some new guests was being unloaded.
