To this day I can’t remember what we ate.
At some point, it all fell apart. To this very day, I’m still humiliated at how I found out Christine was cheating on me with George. Maybe they went out for a jog and I went to the library, and came back home when I realized I had left my wallet at home, with library card enclosed, and instead of jogging, they were in our master bedroom, working out on the bed. Or maybe we had George over for dinner and when I suddenly stepped into the kitchen to see if I could help with the serving, I found George and Christine in a romantic clutch in the pantry. Or maybe I found an erotic text on my phone that Christine sent to me by mistake.
Or maybe none of these things happened. Maybe something worse happened.
