Time to Blink
Another day, another Excel file. This time, computer class is all business: calculate Mondocorp’s gross and net profits, profit margin, and the return on investment for an advertising campaign. Make a chart. I’ve had worse projects, but between kids talking, the printer whining in the corner, and Miss Barnett’s whistle blowing outside, my concentration is shot.
After two minutes, I give up. Everyone else has. Even Jessica Truesdale’s taking an online quiz. I pull out my silver notebook, run down all the things I have to look up. I start with my locket.
