I was carrying clean towels toward the guest rooms when Cassian came through the front doors. He saw me, but he didn't come over with two warriors following behind him. I kept walking until I reached the end of the hall. Aurelia appeared from one of the rooms before I could turn back.
"Kiara, can you help me with something?" Aurelia asked. "It'll only take a few minutes." She opened her bedroom door for me.
I understood what she was doing and followed her inside. Cassian joined us a few minutes later, and Aurelia left without asking questions. I placed the towels on a chair while he closed the door. One look at his face told me he had more bad news.
