Training became part of my mornings over the next few days. Taren expected me there with everyone else, and I stopped wondering whether I belonged on the grounds. I listened, practiced, and accepted every correction he gave me. By the end of each session, I knew exactly how much I still had to learn.
Tessa usually appeared before training ended. Sometimes someone needed her help, and other mornings she came because she knew I would be there. We started eating together afterward whenever she had time. Having someone seek me out simply because she enjoyed my company was still new to me.
