I got in the car and Percy was already out, she looked pissed at me when I came out but I don’t know why, I thought we were vibing I mean I did just kick some dudes ass for her. So why was she mad at me?  I started the car but had nowhere to go, she didn’t give me no directions. “Hey percy, I don’t know where you live" she opened her eyes and sat up right, I’ve seen some drunk people in my day but never that. “I was pretending to be sleep so that I wouldn’t have to face this.” she said while patting her stomach, I think she meant while being drunk. But what did I do? “Hey not to sound like that guy who brag about kicking someone's ass for being a douchebag to a woman for credit, but I’m not liking the cold shoulder Percy” she turns to me with a smile on her face, I can't tell if she was happy or if she was loony. “Oh well then, pull your d**k out for the pissing contest ya weirdo, I could’ve stood for my own, you think that was the first drink to be thrown in my face by Demetri or one of his goon. Yea it happened almost every hour of the day since he dumped me. Oh yea honey that's my ex, you wanna know why he hates me so much. HUH! Because I wasn’t ready to have s*x, they taunt me day in and day out. I’ve changed my phone number and deleted eight f*******: accounts. I couldn’t care less about some petty beer, I feel accomplished cause you know what. They made it possible for me to like it. Because I’m a nobody. And nobody remembers a nobody” she didn’t cry but her voice was shaky, she looked at me with the calmest facial expression ever. Her hair was wet and so was her shirt, I didn’t like her taking that treatment. “Doll I don’t know why you take that treatment, why don’t you stick up for yourself?” she puts her head down “I’m tired of being my own hero everyday” she looked me in the eyes as if she wanted to say something her eyes went down to my cheek, when I looked in the rearview mirror I could see lipstick smudge on my cheek. Now that I think about it, the way she was acting before she got in the car made sense, she must’ve been jealous. “Your friend Ashley told me to give this to you.” I leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek like her friend ordered me to do, I wasn’t going to go through with it but the thought of her being jealous makes me want to prove to her she doesn’t have to be. She didn’t expect the kiss I gave her, something so innocent made her body tense up, I can tell that made her nervous. “T-thank you” I didn’t know if she meant the kiss or the fight. She fiddled with her hands while we sat in the park car, I forgot that I didn’t know where we were going. “Hey Percy I still don’t know where we're going” she slaps her head and then gives me the directions, I kinda know where it is but I don't know my way around this part of town. I’ve memorized my route to school, it helped me to learn the main streets. I know my way from Percy’s house, I think I won’t get lost. 

We’re stopped at a red light, out of the corner of my eye I can see Percy stealing glances at me while we drive. I wonder what's going on in her head, what she thinks of me. I don’t know how someone like her can take so much torment, why didn’t anyone stand up for her? I looked to my right and caught her eyes, for a second I forgot where I was. We stood like that until someone's honking snapped me back to the reality of me driving. 

With Persephone's help we were able to make it to her house,we got out and I gave her the key in her hand. She didn’t look directly at me but I can tell something changed. I hope I didn’t move too fast on her, she walked up to her door steps and paused. She turned around and ran back to where I was standing. “Thank you.” She kissed me on the cheek, then turned to go home.

Tonight was the best night of my life, I hope we stay here long.
