Four Years Ago

“So , how are you? ”

“I am fine. Is this something important? Can this wait? I am a little busy.”

“Ya no worries, just wanted to clear a doubt. We can talk later. See ya ...”

I wish I could be sure that he likes me more than a friend. It has been three months and honestly, I feel like we are ‘more than friends’. But something ticks me off. Why do I get so confused? Maybe he is just being nice. But then why would he flirt? I wish I could read his mind.

Allie’s phone rang. It was him. It has been six hours that she waited for him to respond. As usual he called her at 10 PM.

“So, how are you? You didn’t call me back, were you too busy or just forget me?” She could feel his smirk as he said.

“I thought you would talk to me. I presumed you were busy, so I didn’t call.”

“I am never too busy for you Princess”

“umm...then can I ask you something? Lately I have been thinking about conversations we were having, and I couldn’t help but wonder what we are?”

“What are we? We are friends, Princess. Really close and special friends, I really admire you and like you. Do you doubt my feelings?”

“No...no, I didn’t mean that, it’s just...”

“Look, I said earlier that what we have is too special to be labelled. We are more than that baby.” He cooed. She smiled. He was so intimidating yet sweet.

“So, how was the day?”

“Little exhausting but talking to you does help me relieve. I was really caught up with friends and then we went for movies. This other girl was trying to flirt with me and I couldn’t help but laugh. Later, we even got back to her place, it was a nice little get-to-know.”

“So, you went back with her?”

“Not just me, all of our friends. It was more like we were knowing about our class. You know, she sings really well and we talked her into going for college fest.”

“Really, even I do a little singing. I thought I told you when we first met.”

“It slips my mind. Anyway, will you meet me this Sunday? I will be back home...alone” She blushed thinking about last time.

“Yeah sure.”

“Mind if you ask what we will do?”

Cannot believe I could not see through this crap.

“Hey , umm…I was wondering if you are free tonight?”

Allie looked at him sceptically, “Sure, why?”

“You do realize that your intense interrogation scares me? Sometimes I don’t even realize whether I am still your prince or not?” Josh sighed dramatically

Allie gave her ‘what-an-i***t’ look but could not help and smiled internally.

“So, what’s your plan?”

“Movie night”

“Sounds good…I am in” She smiled. Josh gave his pearly white smile.
