(Marcus P.O.V.)
As I sat there watching the sun come up I decided to take a nap, I needed some sleep before I went over the letter again. It had to be perfect, it had to be written in away that it made the Dragon want to buy her. But not in the simple manner of wanting to add to his collection but beyond all reason he had to have her, she was special or at least that is what I wanted him to think. She was just another Fairy as far as anyone was concerned. If this part of the plan failed we would have some difficulty going through with the rest of the plan.
I laid down and fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow, I had hidden the letter in a fake bottom of a draw in my desk there was no one in the castle that knew of it. So there was no way anyone find it. A few hours latter I heard the door opened to the sitting area of my quarters I looked and saw a tray of food had been set out. I then heard the Headmistress’ voice say:
“Your breakfast, Marcus.”
She then turned and left my quarters, without another word. In away I was happy she did not say anything else I had been here long enough to have some respect for her and seeing as I was now the one who had been found out I did not want to think about what she would do if given the opportunity. I heard the door shut and lock, she then talked to someone I assumed it was a guard. Well, things could definitely be worse, at least I am being brought food. I went over and found portage as well as toast and an apple. I sat there and started to think, Vampires are ruthless why in the world is he feed me? Why would he care he was just going o kill me? Did he want me to think there was a possibility of living through this situation? As these questions raced through my mind I finished my food, I then went to my office and sat down, got the letter out and read over it again to make sure it was perfect. It read:
“To the esteemed Dragon of Larthen,
Word has reach me here in the Thessenway Castle, that you are looking to expand your collections of Fairies. I have also heard of your particular requirements for the Fairies you are looking for. By chance there is one here at Thessenway Castle that meets the requirements that you are looking for the descriptions as follows:
Name: Kataya
Height: 5 feet 7 inches
Weight: 160 pounds
Hair: Black to her waist.
General information: She has a basic understanding of White Magic based in Nature. She has been a slave since she was a child, so no major train will be needed. She has wings that can be hidden an unusual trait to be sure. Her wings colors are a base color of emerald with royal purple spots, trimmed in silver. She is a slender build, yet not weak she is very agile.
Please consider this letter an invitation to make an offer, for this exquisite specimen. The messenger who delivered this letter will be willing to bring back a reply. Thank you Esteemed Dragon of Larthen for reading and considering this invitation.
Headmaster of Thessenway Castle
Marcus.”
I looked over the letter and this finally product was very satisfying, it would defiantly catch the Dragons eye. Kataya fit what the Dragon bought perfectly, this was the perfect ending to O’Flynne as well as Kataya. I smiled to myself this game would soon be over and I would be the victor. Oh this was grand. That evening Erik came and took the letter he assured me that it would delivered. Now we wait my least favorite part of any plan.
It had been three days, three days of wondering if my plan was going to work if we were going to have to face two Vampires. Finally Erik came it was night time so that no one would see him, The Master had been more than a little watchful us both. Thankfully Erik knew the back ways in and out of almost every area of the castle he had been my ears and eye in all of this. He ahsnded me the letter it was still unopened. It read:
“Master Marcus,
Your offer is quite unusual, it is not often that someone is willing to let go of a fairy with such attractive proportions, especially to a Dragon Lord. I greatly appreciate your trust in me to name my own price, and for that you shall be rewarded. I offer 5000 gold pieces upon delivery of the specimen, to trade hands if I find the subject to be of adequate quality. I expect her to be delivered within the next month as I have other business to attend to in the coming months.
As we do not conduct business often I will remind you that if I find the subject to be offensive to my eyes, this will conclude our business with each other for the foreseeable future
Best regards,
The Dragon Lord of Larthen”
I could have jumped for joy, this was the best news I had in days this meant that things were starting to go our way. Once this was done there was nothing but to kill The Master and get out of the Hell hole for good. We then could get our money and get an easier job dear god knows an easier job was needed after this s**t show. I looked up from the letter to Erik and smiled then said:
“He’s buying her.”
“Well ain’t that nice. When?” Erik said with a smile.
“She will be delivered in one month. Money will be exchanged upon delivery. Then we can move forward with out plans.” I answered.
Erik smiled and said “Well its a shame that she has two owners then Master and Lord O’Flynne will be talking terms within the next few days. That would be a fun situation to watch play out?”
I chuckled and said: “Too bad we will be long gone when it does.”
He smiled and said: “I will make all the arrangements.”
He left my office which left me to time to think something for which I have plenty of of late. Not something I was overly happy about, however at this point there was no point in thinking about it. I found it odd that the Dragon was will to pay 5000 gold pieces for her, that was 5 times what a non-pedigreed royal Fairy was worth. If I had learned anything in life it was not to question when good things happen. The plan to get rid of O’Flynne’s precious Kataya was the best plan that we had in years, by doing so he had no reason to stay here at Thessenway castle. Once he left he would then meet his fate with the Dragon, oh this was priceless.
This meant I could move my attention to our plans to kill The Master. There was a few ways to finish the job, the good old fashioned way of a wooden stake to the heart. But that seemed to cliche to me. Poison, however the problem with that was finding one that Vampires could not smell. I had to think of a way to kill The Master that did not involve getting close to The Master. He was old he could see an attack before it happened that could be proved by the last four hunters that came after him and did not return. I then remembered I had brought some old books with me one of them should have some clues as to how to kill him from a far. I got up from my desk and went to my bookcase on the opposite wall and started looking through the numerous books I had. I found a few that maybe of use, ‘Poison of Blood,’ ‘Ways to trap a Vampire,’ and ‘ The Weapon’s of Death.’ One of these should help begin the search of a way to kill The Master without being close to him. I sat back down at my desk and began reading the books, the hours of the night rolled away until dawn.
