Ye Jin opened his interface. He released Mumu first—the little thing was impatient. Then he opened his sub-class tab.

Craft a thousand pills and treat them like snacks. Make a hundred artifacts for protection. When fighting, just drown the enemy in them. That works too!

Young Master Ye opened the Artificer tab with gritted teeth. He stared greedily at the interface.

The "Artificer Fire Cauldron" slot held a Rank 3 cauldron: the Purple-Green Cinnabar Fire Cauldron. Next to it, the "Artificer Books" slot showed a scroll: "Essential Alchemy Secrets."

Thank goodness. My livelihood is safe. Ye Jin jumped up in ecstasy and clicked to withdraw the Purple-Green Cinnabar Fire Cauldron.

A red light flew from his palm. Thud. A two-foot bronze cauldron appeared.

Three ears, ancient design, surrounded by two humanoid beasts. A purple flame coiled like a dragon around the cauldron's body. Scales and horns flickered in the fire.

"Purple-Green Cinnabar Fire Cauldron: A millennium fire dragon from the South Sea failed its heavenly tribulation. A master artificer forged its remnant soul, body, core, and pearl into this cauldron. The dragon's fire soul became the cauldron spirit. This cauldron can level up."

Ye Jin obtained this cauldron from a cave during a quest. It was only Rank 3, but it had full functions. It could craft equipment, talismans, and pills.

It also had a spirit. As long as he had enough materials, it could level up.

Thinking this, Ye Jin was over the moon. His frustration about the broken leveling system faded. But to confirm, he reached a hand toward the cauldron.

The flames were extremely condensed. The center burned fiercely, but the handles were cool. Ye Jin ignored the handles and reached for the fire. Anyone watching would think he was an i***t.

Before he got close, searing pain shot through him. He snatched his hand back and jumped up. A smell of roasting meat filled the air.

Ye Jin hissed through his teeth, blowing on the burn.

He thought for a moment, then chanted a "Retract" command. The cauldron turned into green light and vanished. He checked his Artificer tab. The cauldron was there.

"It's not an illusion. It's real..." Ye Jin looked at the blisters on his palm. His vision went black. He collapsed.

He didn't want to faint, but he couldn't help it!

"Chirp chirp... giggle giggle..." Mumu panicked. It flew over and landed on his face.

It shifted into a small green hand and slapped him. Then it pinched his philtrum hard.

"Fuck..." Ye Jin groggily woke up.

Ye Jin quickly clicked his Artificer tab. A row of data appeared in his mind. Young Master Ye greedily scanned it.

"Artificer Skills: Metal Purification, Socket Inlay, Talisman Crafting, Equipment Crafting, Artifact Crafting, Pill Crafting."

Besides Purification and Inlay, everything else required blueprints or recipes in the blueprint slot.

He only had "Complete Guide to Spirit Equipment" and three blueprints.

"It's real! It's real!" Ye Jin widened his eyes. He stroked the cauldron's handles lovingly.

"At least I have you. Otherwise, I'd only have memories. This shitty world is too primitive. Cold weapons and fists? f*****g ridiculous."

"Hahaha! I need crafting materials! Forge a few divine weapons, high-grade artifacts! Hehehe... Let's test the flames first. Young Master Ye is still in his prime!"

After laughing wildly, Ye Jin gripped the bronze handles. He channeled a hair-thin thread of true qi into the cauldron.

The flames didn't move. A message appeared, devastating Ye Jin.

"...Sorry. Your true qi is severely insufficient to drive this artifact."

Ye Jin's wild laughter froze.

A blank stare and manic laughter appeared on his face at the same time. He looked incredibly stupid.

Ye Jin slowly opened his right hand. He smoothed the twitching muscles on his face. He blinked and channeled true qi again.

His cultivation was terrible. He'd used a lot of qi already. This time, the thread was even thinner.

"Sorry. Your true qi is severely insufficient to drive this artifact."

"f**k! No way! How did I forget? My rank is so low! My qi is so weak! How can I drive a cauldron near artifact rank?" Ye Jin slapped his forehead in pain.

Young Master Ye's laughter cut off like a severed blade. He fell backward onto the bed like a wooden log.
