The parents were sitting down together in the room and not saying anything; they were like strangers in their matrimonial room.
Theo mom eyes were so red because she has been crying since the day she returned from the station to listen to the confession while Theo father has been blaming himself for the whole thing that has taken place; he wished he could go back in time and make things right again with his family.
