“Hanggang dito na lang ba?” Saad ko na walang pag-asa, gana, at kalungkuta’y namumutawi sa aking sarili. Habang pinagmamasdan ang imaheng hindi ko makilala— hindi ako ito. Mga matang puno ng pag-mamahal, pag-asa, at pangarap ay nawala ng dahil sa isang pusong tumigil sa pagtibok. Unti unting nanlabo ang aking paningin sa sariling repleksiyon—wari mo’y kinakain ng mga alaala.
At ayun siya— ang lalaking hindi ko inakalang magiging isa sa mga haligi ng lakas ko. Nakatayo siya sa harap ng dagat, tila ninanamnam ang hangin at ganda ng tanawin.
As I made my way towards him. I can’t remove the smile building in my face. Behind his back, I hugged him tightly.
“Thank you, Hon! Thank you for everything. I know. I said it multiple times, but I’ll never get tired saying those words. I love you more than you know. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for keeping your vows. Thank you for the peace you have given ever since. I love you 1 billion, babyyy” I said while hugging him.
He turned his body in front of me and before saying anything else, he traced my face using his hand and kissed my forehead.
“Baby, I love youuu moree. God knows how I prayed to be with you for a time. The vows I said are the prayers I always prayed for and now I have them I will always do it endlessly. Thank you for existing, My love,” he said before kissing my forehead once again.
We took pictures, we played like teenagers and lastly, before ending the day, we both watched the sunset as it set down.
We hugged each other until he spoke.
“Love, remember back then you loved taking pictures of sunsets, and you always say—Sunset is a testament that not every ending is a disaster. It’s always a reminder that, no matter what happens, there is always a beautiful ending and there is always another day to start again.”
“Ofc course, and because of that you always send me pictures of sunset na kaya!” I said with a proud tone.
He smiled and said, “Silly, i love you woman.”
After that, he stole a kiss on my lips and ran. What a hobby!
“WHAT IS THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR, ATTY!” I shouted and immediately followed him.
We laughed together like there was no one around us. We enjoyed that day before going back to reality. Reality of facing our workloads.
