Sebastian examined the young woman before him and wondered why she was so distant. He wasn’t talking about the physical distance between them, no. He was talking about the emotional one.
Riley looked at him as if she wasn’t exactly looking at him but someone else instead. And something about that irked him a little. Her eyes were far away, devoid of any emotion, and yet, he could see that there was something, something that gave her a purpose, something that made her do things. Something that made her hide her emotions behind a mask of indifference.

He couldn’t exactly understand what made him feel the way he did about her but there was something about Riley Collins that intrigued him. That made him wonder what was going on in that pretty little head of hers.
