A week passed by quickly as Riley healed a little bit more—not completely—and started to enjoy her stay at the Harrisons.
Sebastian kept his distance from her the whole time, only occasionally showing up to check on her progress and talk to her briefly before disappearing again. Sometimes he even avoided eye contact altogether, preferring to avoid her whenever possible instead of talking face-to-face.
It was confusing to Riley, who didn’t know why he acted this way. Was he upset with her? Did she say something wrong? Had she done something wrong to upset him somehow? She didn’t have the slightest clue about any of that yet. All she could do was sit around and wait patiently for Sebastian to return, wondering what kind of mood he would be in this time when he showed up next.
