Syria’s POV I really thought Kael was going to get shot. "No!" I screamed, loud enough to startle myself. My heart was racing so fast it felt like it was trying to tear through my chest. Panic gripped me so hard I couldn’t breathe. For a second, everything froze. I was sure the bullet would hit him. It all happened so fast. But then, like some kind of action movie, Kael moved. He dodged the bullet. He was swift and effortless. Like it was nothing to him. His reflexes were insane. It was as if his body just knew what to do, like this wasn’t the first time he'd faced death up close. My eyes went wide in disbelief. I wasn’t the only one. The few people who remained standing in the chaos around us looked just as shocked. "This f*****g can’t be real," I heard someone whisper behind me.
