Kael’s POV “Sir…I’ve gathered the report. She is already married.” I didn’t want to believe it at first. I want to deny it. But I am hearing it right now. She had been declared the Luna of his tribe. “You may go now,” I said in a low cold voice to the investigator I had ordered to investigate Syria's whereabouts. He kept his head bowed as he turned away then silently walked out of the room, leaving me standing there in the suffocating quiet. I stared at the wall across from me. A large painting hung there. Its massive gold frame was almost as heavy as the silence. My chest was tight, and a hard pressure grew behind my eyes. My hand was clenched around a shot glass and before I could even process what I was doing, the glass cracked under the force of my grip. Then…shattered.
