Chapter One: The Curse

Tymec was a sleepy town deep within the folds of the Yvanic countryside. This is where Desdamona spend her childhood, the apple of her father's eye after her mother's untimely passing. She was a child, fair of face and light of heart and knew no stranger. That was until the Evil Queen cast a wicked curse upon her, jealous of her grace and beauty. She cursed her with magical abilities, something frowned upon by all god fearing folks throughout the land, making the once loving a vibrant girl a shut in. Her father could barely stand to look at her and aokn, due to her curse took his own life, which devastated her. She fled into the woods and there she discovered her solace. The animals did not judge her for her affliction, in fact they embraced it. The curse had given her abilities, but due to her kind nature, they were not evil powers, instead they were of nature and helped the animals greatly. They helped her build a place for herself and soon this was her life. That was until the day she met her. The sun warmed the forest floor as Des picked up nuts with the chipmunks and squirrels before winter came. They scattered as a noise came from the path and Des climbed into the nearest tree. There she saw a girl walking through with a basket, who could no older than she. Knowing other people did not understand her, she dis not approach she just watched and soon the girl left. This became a daily thing, except for Sundays when she did not come. It was the only solace she had in humans, the gentle girl who came every day. That was until the day she set a tree on fire. She stomped into the woods and the tree holding Des lit up and she quickly used her gift to quench the fire. The girl stopped as she saw the fire go out and Des knew she would not be able to hide any longer. She jumped from the tree and landed before the girl, her hair askew and her eyes alight. "Hello," Des said softly as she curtsied to the girl.
