Chapter 2

Axiel's POV

I woke up, as usual, I'm crying. It's the first day of my 4th year and I'm excited.

Napatingin ako sa alarm clock, it's already five in the morning, 7:30 pa naman ang pasok namin.

I saw the blue flower again. I used my magic to create a small cloud above it and it rained, the flower danced while showering. I picked it up and moved it near the window para maarawan mamaya.

I started preparing myself up for the School.

From showering to putting my shoes on.

Bumaba na ako bago pa ako tawagin ng aming maid para kumain.

I saw mom and dad eating there, they're talking about something. I greeted them and kissed them. I miss this. Even though nasa iisang place lang kami, madalang lang kami mag kita-kita because lagi silang nasa work.

I'm done eating and nagpaalam na akong umalis sa kanila. Sabi ni Dylan ay susunduin niya raw ako.

After a long wait, I saw his carriage. It stopped in front of me, he peeked at the glass window and smiled at me. He open the door of it and tinulungan niya akong umakyat.

"Good morning, babe."

He kissed me on the cheeks.

"Good morning too."

"Have you eaten yet?"

"Yeah."

"Oh, nagdala pa naman ako ng foods for you." I can hint the sadness in his voice kaya I didn't mind how full I am at kinuha ko 'yon.

"I didn't say I'm full." He smiled.

After a long ride. We arrived in front of a gigantic gate, it's the Academy.

Ahh, how I've missed this place.

I saw our friends waiting for us outside the gate.

"Good morning, Guys!" I greeted them and they all just smiled except for Kier.

"Good morning, Acy!" Candice greeted me back. She has so many nicknames to me. I rolled my eyes.

"There's nothing good about the morning." Kier made us look at him.

"Why? How do you say so?" Only Dylan has the courage to question him.

Yeah, what's bad about it?

We're all confused and scared. Knowing Kier for sure he knows another thing.

"A challenge will be provided to the students and the outcome will divide the students and put them on their right class ranks."

"There's nothing wrong about that."

I agreed with Misha.

Kier glared at him. "The challenge will start after welcoming the freshmens." and... We're all SHOCKED.

"WHAT? I THOUGHT THEY ALREADY RANKED US BECAUSE OF THE MISSION ON OUR LAST DAY IN 3RD YEAR?!"

Elaine shouted.

"YEAH, AND WHAT? FIRST DAY NA FIRST DAY TALAGA?!"

Yuhan complained.

We all have our complains and issues about it. Like duh it's the first day of school and you'll make us tired this quick?

We just entered the Academy and went to the gymnasium because

Headmistress Shail announces it to the speaker. All 4th year students must go to the gymnasium.

Pagkadating namin doon ay tapos na ang pag welcome sa mga freshmens, tumayo na si Headmistress at lumapit sa mic.

"Hello and Welcome back again to the Academy, students! Today we have a new ranking ceremony!"

Every students had a different reactions.

Some liked it, some don't.

"Paano na yan? Iba ang napaghandaan ko"

"WHAT?!! THE SCHOOL JUST STARTED!"

"Sino ba kasing professor ang nag suggest niyan at para masapak na, charot."

"Anong bago kaya?"

"I'm so excited."

"Me too!"

..and others.

"I know this is quite a shock everyone, but it's more easy and you can learn many things from it! Aren't you excited?"

Who the f would be excited from dying quickly?

"Professor Zane here will explain how you will win this challenge." She said and gave the mic to Prof. Zane.

"Good morning students! Did you missed our School?"

After a long welcoming, he explained how to win the challenge.

"The challenge is quite easy, you'll just go to the Caylum Forest and find the crystals we hid and break it. That easy! And every crystals contains a different abilities whoever breaks it will receive it, the abilities lasts till the end of your year!"

It gained a different reactions from the students.

"ISN'T CAYLUM FOREST DANGEROUS?!"

"YEAH, RUMOR HAS IT THAT SOMETHINGS LURKING ON THAT FOREST."

"I'M BACKING OUT."

Yeah, I visited it once on my last day of 3rd year and never came back again because I was attacked by something. If not for Kier, I would be dead.

"What are they planning?" We looked at Kier because of what he said.

"What do you mean?

Do you think the Academy's staffs has another plan in their mind?"

Dylan asked.

Kier just shrugged.

"You only have 2 hours to finish it, those who can't find one within that time will be put in the last section."

Mrs. Shail replaced him.

"The task begins now! Goodluck students!"

We all ran to the Caylum Forest to begin searching for the crystals.

Kier used his magic and used the heat of the sun to feel the Crystals.

He's smart.

And he found one, he broke it and a red smoke came out.

"How do you feel? What do you think your ability is?" Rayne asked.

"Let's split into two and help each other find their own crystals." He ignored him. And we just laughed at Rayne.

"Aciel is coming with me." Suddenly, I can feel butterflies flying in my stomach.

I blushed and we split.

Kier is with Misha.

Dylan is with me.

Rayne with Candice.

Yuhan and Gale.

Brent along with Elaine.

Daisy and Elle together.

Kier's POV

I chose to go with Misha because she doesn't have an Offensive magic. Although she has a bow, but it's not enough for our enemy.

From the moment something attacked Aciel, I knew something is up in this forest. Now that there's a challenge going in here, mas lalo akong naghinala.

"Shoot that bird over there." I told her.

"Why?"

I didn't reply. She readied her bow and I put some fire on the arrow, she shot it and the bird turned to ashes. Matapos maglaho ng abo, a crystal appeared.

"Get it and let's regroup with the others."

"Thanks K!"

I saw her cracked the crystal and a peach-colored smoke came out of it.

She got the telepathy ability.

While I got the teleportation ability.

We came back to the place where we were supposed to regroup and

we're the first to arrive there.

Rayne's POV

I used my power to create five shadow clones to help us find the crystals. While Candice is using her powers and copying what Kier did. Feeling the crystals in the air.

A minutes of finding and my shadow saw one. It's on the top of a big rock. We were reaching it when suddenly a boy about our age jumped on my back.

Oh no, the crystal!

"Candice get it!"

But we were too late, he already got it.

I saw Candice glaring at him. Knowing Candice, she does not let herself be defeated.

Boy you're dead, give it back to us or els-

Candice shot him with an air ball.

"Woah, headshot. Nice!" The boy got slammed on the tree and fell unconscious.

"Get it."

"Yes, Boss!" I followed her command, baka ako pa ang sumunod. I searched the boy's pocket and found three Crystals.

Is he selling these?

I did not care and took all of it. I saw a pen on his pocket kaya I wrote a message on his palm.

Don't mess with us.

"Let's find your Crystal." She said while reaching her hand to get the crystal I'm holding.

I showed her the three Crystals I got.

"No need for it."

"Nice! let's break the two." She said happily.

We broke it and a black smoke comes out of my crystal and a gray smoke on Candice's.

"Let's wait the others at the place." I said.

Yuhan's POV

Bakit ba si Gale ang kasama ko. Puro kaartehan lang naman ang alam nito. Pssh.

"Hey! We're going in circles, do you even know the way here?"

She rolled her eyes.

"Edi ikaw na ang mag lead tutal mas marunong ka pa naman kesa sakin."

"Yeah, I should."

Aba! Ang kapal naman ng mukha nito.

I let her lead the way and while we're walking we saw a man lying unconscious on the ground.

"OMG! Who's that?" Apaka oa talaga ng babaeng 'to.

"Probably a student who got into a fight." I started searching him, he might have a Crystal.

"What are you doing? You can't just rob a sleeping man."Give me more patience, Lord.

"If you want your Crystal, just shut your mouth." After a while, I found a crystal inside his shirt.

I gave it to her "There, break it."

She broke the crystal and a white smoke came out of it.

"How about you?" She asked.

"I'll find one my own, go and regroup with the others. I can't be with you anymore." I answered.

"If you say so. Bye and Goodluck!" She bid me goodbye.

Buti na lang at umalis siya. I can finally have my peace.

I saw the boy waking up so I picked a stick and hit him in the head, he fell unconscious again.

While looking at him, I saw a writing on his palm. What is that?

'Don't mess with us'?

It's probably the bullies again.

I left him there and started my search for Crystal.

Brent's POV

We've been here for a long time, and Elaine is getting worried about her rank.

If it weren't for that boys, we would've been back at our meeting place already.

Flashback:

We saw a Crystal lying on a water lily in the middle of the lake. Elaine was trying to reach it with a stick, when a crocodile submerged and bit it.

Fuck, it has a guardian.

I used my power to strike the lake and electrocute the predators lurking on the water. I tried to swim to get it but someone shot it. Tumalsik ang crystal sa paahan ng isang lalake. I saw two figures on the both side of this lake.

They're teaming too?

All this time may naghihintay lang samin na patayin yung crocodile?

I was just about to swim back but the two of them already ran at different directions.

I looked at Elaine with disbelief.

"You didn't even do something?"

"I was scared, they're two."

"We were two too." I sighed.

"Forget about it and let's just find another."

End of flashback.

We are searching the bushes right now to find crystals when we hear a rustling on one of the bushes.

"Ready yourself." I whispered to Elaine. She just nodded.

We were ready to shoot it pero si Yuhan ang iniluwa non.

"What are you doing here? Where's Gale?" Elaine asked him.

"She already has her crystal and she's with the others now." He answered.

"How about you?" I asked him too.

"We only found one and so I gave it to Gale, I can't stand her anymore." He said while rolling his eyes. We just laughed.

I noticed something shining on the tree. It's a crystal!

"The tree there has a crystal!" I said happily. "Get it before someone steal it again."

Yuhan climbed the tree and picked it,

it's two crystals.

Elaine groaned.

"We need to leave one here." She said while pouting.

"I'm not staying, I'm the one who picked it up." Yuhan said and hid the one crystal.

"I saw it." I copied his tone.

I saw Elaine sighing. My heart has a soft spot for her. "You two can have it and go back to the meeting place. I'll stay and search for mine." Her eyes glimmered. I smiled.

"Really, Brent? Thank you!" She hugged me. It's so warm, don't stop.

But sadly, she stopped.

"Be careful."

And the two of them left.

Daisy's POV

"KUNG HINDI KA SANA NAG-INGAY, EDI SANA NAKA-BALIK NA TAYO!" I shouted at Elle.

We're running right now, we found three crystals but a lion is chasing us.

"SORRY NAMAN!" She shouted back.

"GIVE ME MY CRYSTAL!" I stretched my hands to reach for it.

"WHY? YOU CAN'T BREAK IT WHILE A LION IS CHASING US!" Sabi niya pero kinukuha niya ang crystal sa bulsa.

"I CAN CRUSH IT IN MY HANDS!" I said, irritated at her.

"UH, YEAH! NICE IDEA!"

Inabot niya sa akin ang isang Crystal, at dinurog ko 'yon sa aking kamay, may brown na usok ang lumabas don.

Naramdaman ko na lang na mas lalong bumibilis ang takbo ko at nauunahan ko na si Elle.

"BYE, BEH!" I got a super speed ability.

I heared Elle cursed me before her voice vanished.

Is that Brent?

I stopped at my track.

He's bending down and he's finding something at the bush.

I have a plan.

I grinned and kicked Brent's butt.

"f**k!" He cursed.

I laughed at him.

"What are you doing there?"

He's glaring at me. "I'm finding crystals."

"Don't you worry, Elle has a spare crystal, let's just wait her here. By the way, where's Elaine?" I asked him.

"She's with Yuhan, and they already left to regroup with the others." He answered.

"Nice! We got a Lion after us." I said while looking happy, like it's a nice thing.

After saying that we heard a loud roar and Elle's scream.

"Let's kill it." He commanded.

"BRING IT HERE ELLE!" I shouted at the running Elle.

"f**k YOU!" I smiled at her.

I controlled the vines near us and tied the Lion.

Brent shot it with lightning and it got toasted.

"THAT'S TEAMWORK!!!" I rejoiced.

Elle slapped me. "Why did you left me there? You could've just carry me."

She rolled her eyes.

"Do you think I could carry you? With that fats?" I smirked.

"HA!" She was gonna slap me again but Brent interfered.

"Stop it and give me the Crystal."

Elle handed it to Brent while glaring at me.

"Let's go! Baka hinihintay na nila tayo."

He cracked the crystal and a yellow smoke comes out of it.

What's his ability?

Elle did the same and her crystal has a light blue smoke.

We left and followed Brent.

Misha's POV

We've been waiting for the others to arrive here.

"An hour passed already, shouldn't they be back by now?" I'm worried sick.

"Just chill, Misha. They can take care of their selves." Candice is assuring me that they're just safe.

Brent, Daisy and Elle arrived.

"Oh, Thank God, you're all safe!" Lumapit ako sa kanila at yumakap.

"We're strong, we can't die... yet." Daisy laughed while saying that.

"See, Misha, you don't have to worry anymore." Candice said again.

Only Dylan and Aciel still hasn't made it back yet.

"How about Dylan and Aciel?" I asked worriedly. They just laughed.

"Do you think Dylan will let someone hurt Aciel?" Yuhan asked while laughing.

"No." I said but I'm still worried.

"Then stay chill." He said and stopped laughing. No matter what they say. I'm still worried.

Kier came back, earlier he said he was just gonna get something.

"I have the list of the abilities on this paper. It's based on the color of the smoke you got." He said while reading the paper.

Red is teleportation

Peach is telepathy

Black is flight

Gray is enhanced vision

White is therianthropy

Green is radar sense

Dark Violet is animal manipulation

Brown is super speed

Yellow is super jump

Light blue is agility

Blue is telekinesis

Purple is invisibility

Yuhan and Elaine broke their Crystals, green and dark violet smoke comes out of it.

While being amazed of the abilities we got. We heard an explosion and the part of the forest is burning in the distance.

We made our way to it and we found Aciel lying on the ground, wounded, while Dylan is fighting a Phoenix that has a black fire.

I immediately ran to Axiel and healed him, the bruises and burns he got, now disappeared. But he's still unconscious.

"Someone help me bring Axiel to the Academy!" Candice and Gale volunteered. Candice carried Aciel with her wind.

"What is that doing here?" I asked them.

All living Phoenixes only live in the volcano near the Flaria City so I'm wondering how did that got here, they don't leave their home just to wreak havoc. What's more confusing is that its fire is black.

"I knew it. This is what the real challenge Headmistress Shail wanted to give us. We need to give it back to her family before it can create more chaos."

Kier stated.

Dylan's POV

I'm doing all I can to prevent the fire from spreading far.

"Where's Aciel?" I'm worried. I was not able to protect him. How could the academy let us fight this possesed mythical fiery creature?

"Gale, Misha and Candice took care of him." Daisy answered me. I sighed in relief.

I created water daggers and shot the Phoenix but my attacks just evaporated.

Daisy tried to tie it in a vine but the vine just turned to ashes.

The phoenix turned it's gaze to us and flaps her wings, he rained us with fireballs but Yuhan quickly made a shield and blocked the Phoenix's attack.

"How can we kill this?" I asked Kier.

"I don't know!" He teleported at the Phoenix head and put his palm on it, the Phoenix weakened and got slammed on the ground. But she's just too strong, it stood up again and grabbed Kier, she threw Kier away but a shadow catched him.

"That's freaking strong!" I can hint the amazement on Rayne's voice.

Elle tried to attack it with ice spears but it just melted and evaporated.

Elaine tried to shoot poison on its mouth every time it shrieks but before it could come near, it just evaporized.

Brent created a lightning but the Phoenix dodged it all.

How come she's so op when she's already that old?

Third Person's POV

While the three are walking back to the academy, Aciel woke up. "Guys put me down." He said.

Misha tapped Candice's shoulder "Hey! Aciel's awake!" She said.

"Candice, put him down." Gale added.

"Are you okay?" Candice made sure first that Aciel is okay.

Aciel nodded. "Yeah, Misha's heal is good. Where are the others?" He asked worriedly.

Candice put him down. "They're still fighting the Phoenix." She answered.

"Let's help them." He said excitedly.

"Can you fight?" Gale asked.

"Yeah! Do you not trust me?"

They just trusted him and left to go back where the others were.

Misha informed the others

"Aciel is awake, we're going back there."

On the other side, the team heard it.

The four arrived and joined the fight.

Aciel attacked the Phoenix with his bow and arrow he made from his power. But the Phoenix just blocked it with her wings.

Candice blew a strong wind that only makes the Phoenix's fire stronger. "Oops!" She peace signed at the people glaring at her.

After a minutes of fighting, they're all exhausted, except for Misha who's healing everyone left and right.

"I have a plan!" She joyfully said.

"Gale, blind it with your light."

Gale controlled the sun ray at tinutok niya ito sa mata ng Phoenix.

"Aciel, tie it. Daisy make a strong trees where Aciel can tie the Phoenix."

The two followed Misha's command.

"Kier, take her fire." Kier sucked the fire out of it and the Phoenix lost its fires.

"Elle! Freeze its wings."

"Rayne create a shadow and hold the tie for stronger durability."

"Yuhan, lock it with your barrier but leave a

small opening for the mouth."

"Dylan, pour all the water you have on the barrier."

"Brent! Shoot the water with your lightning." The Phoenix got electrocuted and it shrieked leaving her mouth open.

"Put a poison on it Elaine!"

"Open the barrier, Yuhan! And stab it with a spear on its head, Candice!"

The fight is finished.

The Phoenix turned to ash and a new baby Phoenix rose from it.

"Get it Kier and bring it back to her family." Misha commanded. "Mrs. Shail has an explanation to do." She added.

They all went back to the Academy to talk to her.
