CHAPTER 10
To Frank Kruger, it seemed like only yesterday since he had last been in Dr Martin Gorke's offices. The place looked as if nothing had been touched in between times, and even Gorke seemed to be wearing the same clothes. Kruger introduced Inspector Ziegler who was accompanying him and came straight to the point. The two-day delay while waiting for his return to Munich still stung. So much critical time lost.
A thick file lay open in front of the lawyer.
“You have heard the news about Hardy Madden's plane crash,” Kruger began with no introduction.
“Yes, a tragic affair. But he couldn't stop flying those planes. He'd live in them if he could. Well, now ... ” Gorke broke off with a shrug.
“Do you, sir, believe it was an accident?" Kruger said.
