Leo descended the stairs with Isabella tucked close to his side, his arm heavy around her waist like a shield. He was already tense from his morning call with Matteo and Riccardo, and when he overheard Aria and Gabriella talking excitedly about going shopping in the city, his mood darkened instantly.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Leo’s voice cut sharp, leaving no room for argument. “End of discussion.”
Aria’s face dropped, Gabriella looked disappointed, and Isabella froze halfway down the last step, turning to him with pleading eyes.
“Leo, please,” she said gently, resting a hand against his chest. “We’ve been inside for too long. I just… I need some fresh air. Aria and Gabriella do too. We won’t be alone. The guards will be with us.”
