Clio could feel being parted into two. She lost balance as her knees turned weak as jelly. Her remaining strength was used to produce earsplitting screams. She was in terror watching the body of Eli lying flat on the ground.
Clio could not hear anything. The world around her disappeared and tears prevented her vision from seeing clearly.
"Eli! No! Eli!" All she could do was to scream. She wanted to touch him and check on him but her body failed to move even an inch from where she was standing.
Clio washed her face with her shaking hands. Her whole body trembled. She crawled towards Eli's body while sniffing and crying.
