You Stink

Theon's POV I don't think that Trinity was planning on adopting a dog today. She stopped in the town's small grocery store and cracked the windows. Fear radiated off of Thaddeus as he realized we would not be getting out of the big hunk of metal. "Be right back!" she chirped as she slammed the door and locked it with the wireless remote. "Oh, gods," Thaddeus started scratching at the window. "The f**k is she going?" Thaddeus started barking frantically, then howling. He looked like he was about to take a s**t right there in the car. That would have been a great first-day impression. Trinity had done will by herself without us in this town, the threat didn't seem to be near, but one couldn't be too careful. Thaddeus' possessiveness had come out strong, and the bond was only going to get stronger until we mated with her. The time was already growing short for us to reveal ourselves. Trinity was skipping back to the car, large bag in hand. I could already smell some steak, sausages, and ground beef as she opened and closed the front seat. "See, I wasn't gone long. Bambi, you aren't going to poop, are you?" I snorted in laughter, and Thaddeus only glared at me, but a moment only gave loving eyes to Trinity. She scratched under his chin and cranked up the danger mobile, and led us out of the parking lot. The perky Trinity started to fade as we traveled down the bumpy dirt road outside of town. She grabbed her thighs with one of her hands as the distant look took over. She was thinking of something. It only made me wonder if it was the reason why she adopted us. Trinity wanted big dogs, protective dogs, as she spoke to Toddy back there. We'd be the strong alphas she needed it. The clunker stopped at a small cottage, white with black shutters. It needed a lot of work, but she seemed proud of it. "Home sweet home," she pulled the gear in park and let us out. Thaddeus took off into the woods to do his business but didn't want to let his eyes off Trinity. Mind linking him to hurry up, he left, and I stayed. We would tag team it every way we could so she was never alone. One in, one out, and she was always protected. Inside the cottage, it was primarily white. It reminded me of mother's cabin we stayed in before we went off the Pineville Creek Pack. Whites, nude colors, and several green succulent plants were by the window. A small two-person kitchen table sat in the middle of the kitchen. This had to be a one-bedroom home, perfect. We would have to sleep in the same room as her when the time came. "I wonder how big her bed is?" Thaddeus ran off and found the bedroom. "Sweet! A king-size! It's a metal frame though, I bet we will make some holes in the wall making sweet love to her. That's alright though," Thaddeus looked at Trinity as she set the groceries down. "It will do until we get back to Bergarian, don't you think?" "If we ever make it back," I muttered. I didn't mind having to stay in a small cottage for a while. The castle was overly big, and there was always someone to entertain. Luckily, we will take over the Warrior Pack when we go back, but our lives will be busy even then. What's a couple years in the boonies banging our mate? Hearing a clink on the table, I saw our mate pulling two knives from her boots and a gun all ready on the kitchen counter. "The f**k? She is so fuckin' badass. I hope she decides to change into a wolf. Think what kind of Luna she would be?" Thaddeus joked as he went to the kitchen to sniff around. "That is her decision," I snapped. "She could remain human and would still be a kick-ass," Thaddeus mumbled in my head as he started sniffing through the trash. His wolf, Blaine, must have taken over. Those two were made for each other. Both messy and horny for their mate. "You two," Trinity pointed at us, "need a bath and a good one." Blaine stopped sniffing through the trash and looked up. Blaine hated baths, so he quickly retreated to the back of Thaddeus' mind. "She's gonna touch us," Thaddeus snickers, "like all over." I rolled my eyes and saw the soap and shampoo come out of the grocery bag along with a brush and scissors. Our mate had taken care of us by adopting us now grooming, how embarrassing. We are going to owe her so much. As we began to walk to the one bathroom with a giant tub, there was a knock on the door. Trinity stiffened and reached for her gun on the counter and held it behind her back. Thaddeus began to growl, and our hair stood up between our shoulders. We were both ready for attack mode; she obviously wasn't expecting company. As she about opened the door, there was a yell on the other side. "Come on, Trinity, open up! I know you are home!" Trinity let out a silent breath and put her gun in the back of her jeans. Opening the door, it was a tall boy. Shaggy blonde hair that came down to his ears. Plaid red shirt and tight jeans with his thick-rimmed glasses. "A hipster," Thaddeus growled at him, and I did the same. No male was to step foot in here. Both of us slinked forward, and the man held up his arms. "Hey, Trinity! Oh!" The hipster jumped back in surprise. "Stacy said you might get a dog. Did you adopt two? Are these them?" "No, they are a breed of rabbit." We all looked at her like she had lost her head. "Of course, they are dogs, dummy." She slapped his shoulder. "Actually, they are wolves, but I've grown quite an attachment to them as they have me." Trinity got on her knees again as we rubbed our scent all over her. He can't touch her with this. This is some powerful alpha scent that goes on for miles. This tool wasn't getting anywhere near her. "Easy there, easy!" Trinity petted our heads as we calmed down. "Elijah, what are you doing here? How did you know I lived here?" Red flag, abort, abort, we both started growling again, and Elijah stepped back again. "Stacy did. I asked her for your address," he sheepishly shrugged his shoulders as he tried to walk back in. Thaddeus snapped, but Trinity shushed him. Poor Thaddeus whined, and Trinity cooed at him. "Aw, I'm sorry, Bambi, you are so sensitive, aren't you." Thaddeus started licking her face while she playfully pushed him away. "First base, Thumper. Better get going." My eyes were still on Elijah. The creepy fucker was about to be dog food. "Bambi?" Elijah balled his hand in a fist and started laughing into it. "Let me bite him," Thaddeus growled.  "Stop, be good for a little longer," I hissed.    "Well, what are you doing here?" Trinity stood back up to look at Elijah. "Does the book shop need help?" Elijah shook his head and put his hands in his pockets. "No, uh, I wanted to ask if you wanted to come out to dinner. We only get to hang out in the shop, and you never go out to lunch; you just work or read. Thought it would be fun to get to know each other." Trinity's face was that of shock as Elijah confessed his intentions. "Listen, Elijah," Trinity scratched her head. "That is very…" she thought for a word, "sweet, but I'm just trying to stay out of trouble. Keep a low profile." Elijah nodded his head. "It's just as friends," Elijah continued. Trinity shook her head again. "It's best if we didn't," she held her head down and twiddled he thumbs. "Stacy mentioned an ex-boyfriend…." Elijah brought up. Thaddeus and I both scowled, but Trinity shuffled from foot to foot. "So it is some human fucker, huh?" Thaddeus growled out, causing everyone in the room to jump. "I'll hunt his ass down and rip his d**k to pieces. He better not have touched what is ours," Thaddeus started salivating, and Trinity immediately went to Thaddeus, petting his back. "Stacy has a big mouth," she whispered. Trinity wasn't aware of any bond, yet her body went to comfort Thaddeus like she had done it all her life. Father mentioned that mother did the same when he about lost control when they first met. She had no clue what she was doing, but mother felt drawn to him. I thought father was kidding that he was just a crazy-in-love horn dog for mom, but it really is all true. We have to trust in this crazy bond we have with her. "Seriously? Every person in this town is either a lumberjack, ex-military, or hunter. I think you would be just fine, even with me." Elijah didn't look like he carried a lot of muscle; in fact, he looked kind of scrawny. If this was buff for human standards, we got Trinity in the bag. "Thanks, but I can't." Elijah pondered for a moment. "What if we hang out here?" "I suppose that will be fine." Trinity still looked conflicted, but the push Elijah was sending off wasn't helping. "I'm about to give them a bath. I guess if you wanna join you can?" Elijah nodded and stepped into the cabin. "Just as friends," Trinity warned, and Elijah blushed. "Of course, just as friends." "Dude has been friend-zoned," I mind-linked Thaddeus. "That fucker isn't touching me," Thaddeus growled again. "Then let's make sure he doesn't touch us," we both snickered as we all headed to the small bathroom. … Not once did the wuss touch us; in fact, he looked like he got the bath. Trinity was a total sweetheart and got us wet using the take-down shower hose and washing us one at a time. She cupped the water so it wouldn't get in our eyes and cooed at us like we were babies as she scrubbed behind ears, our legs, and by the power of Zeus, she washed my damn balls. Elijah would cut in, telling her it was best to get us fixed, so we don't spread more wolves around the community until I had an unexpected itch to shake myself, causing all the water to get all over the bathroom. Our mate was brilliant and had a large towel ready to shield herself. Trinity's laugh was so contagious and made us all happier. Thaddeus hopped in no problem by the end of my bath, and Elijah looked on in disgust. He was soaked head to toe. "Here, you can brush out Thumper over there while I finish Bambi." Elijah came closer to be with the brush, but I just growled at him. He gave me a look, but I extended my fangs, and he slipped back in a puddle of water and landed on his ass. Duke was howling at the idiots' fear. "Are you alright?" Trinity got up from Thaddeus to check on Elijah, but he only scoffed. "Yeah, I think I'm going to go home. I don't think your dogs like me too much." Trinity helped up Elijah carefully before he slipped again. "I'm so sorry, I didn't think they would be that bad. They have been so sweet to me." Elijah grumbled as he walked out of the bathroom, leaving us to our own devices. "Something isn't right about him," Thaddeus linked me. "Out of the blue, he shows up, and her supposed 'friend' just gives all the private information away?" "For once, I think you are right, Thaddeus. We can't let our mate out of our sight until we find out motives." "Here, you can put on some sweats that I have that should fit you," we heard her call out to Elijah. The door was shut, and we listened to his footsteps turn back around. s**t, he was staying. Trinity walked back in and had her hands on her hips. "You guys can't be so mean to other people. I know you are grumpy old wolves, but you still need to be polite." Feeling ashamed, we held our heads down until Trinity finished Thaddeus' bath. "Dude, if I was in human form right now, I would be so hard," Thaddeus groaned. "Geeze, Bambi, I bet you are good with the ladies," Trinity whispered as she rinsed him off. "Second base," Thaddeus chuckled in the mind-link. Just wait. I'll be the first to stick it where it counts. We were dried, cut, and brushed; we didn't look half bad. The stink of dog pound was finally free from our fur, and Trinity took her time smelling us, surprisingly. "These guys have a strange smell," Trinity spoke to Elijah, who was flipping through the TV. "Bambi smells like clean leather," Trinity comes over to me and buries her nose in my neck. Shivers ran down me as I pulled my head over for her to get in more. "Thumper smells like scotch or whisky. I'm not sure which; I'm not good with hard alcohol, but it smells amazing!" "You are going to spoil them, and then they will always want belly rubs." Elijah laughed as Trinity started rolling on the floor with us. She continued to rubbing my belly while Thaddeus continued to steal kisses from her. Not once did she swat us away to stop, she continued to roll on the floor with us while Elijah took pictures with his phone.  Once we stopped rolling on the floor, Trinity leaned back on me while Thaddeus curled up near her chest burying his muzzle into her breasts.  "I'll spoil them all I want," she giggled.  .... Elijah finally left. We sat beside Trinity the whole time and took up most of the couch. Elijah wasn't too keen on a bunch of wolves being on a sofa, something about manners, but Trinity brushed it off. She was all too happy to be petting our heads while we laid them in her lap. Poor Elijah wasn't getting any attention, so the fucker left. Good thing, too, because his snotty comments were pissing Thaddeus off. I don't know how many times Trinity had to pet his damn head to calm him down. Maybe he was doing it on purpose. Trinity had begun dinner; she chopped up stew steak and several vegetables and rice and stuck them all in a large pressure cooker. She hummed the entire time and talked to us like we were her old friends. "I haven't talked much the past year; you will have to forgive me," she poured herself a glass of wine and swirled it in her glass. "It's good to have you two, something permanent and me not being alone all the time. Plus, if something happens to me, you can run off and be alright. I don't think my father would waste his time on animals. He never liked them anyway." My ears perked up as she spoke of her father. Is that the guy after her? Not some ex-boyfriend? "Lies after lies, I'm tired of lying to people," Trinity poured her third glass. At this rate, she was going to be drunk before dinner. "I can't tell anyone the truth, or they would go tell on me. There's a bounty on my head, boys, and if the said person brought me in, they would end up being killed anyway. Father isn't one to hand out money. He'll get rid of evidence so fast you couldn't even dial the police." "Holy f**k?" Thaddeus stood up.  "I'm safe now!" She used large hand movements as she walked back to the pressure pot to open up dinner. "I've got my two best wolves, my gun and self-defense, and I've run so far I don't think he could catch up." The smile she was sporting instantly turned into a frown. "That's a lie, too," Trinity stirred the stew and plopped large portions into each of our bowls. Dumping out the rest of her wine in the sink, she took the bowls and placed them on the floor for us. Tender steak, potatoes, carrots, peppers, and rice stared back at us. It was a meal meant for a king; it looked so delicious. Our mouths watered, but both of our ears were pinned on her words.  Taking a measuring cup, she measured exactly one cup and put it in the bowl. "Can't have too much," she whispered. "Got to look my best," a small sob wrecked her. Taking a small bite while standing at the counter, she chewed slowly, savoring each bite. Both Thaddeus and I felt our hearts breaking for her. The s**t she has gone through, we weren't sure. The rugged exterior she put up was a good one and one we would break down as soon as we figured this out. Trinity needed us just as much as we needed her. The first thing I was going to do was get her to eat a normal-sized meal.
