William and the soldier walked deep into the palace together. After a while, they came to a large door, which was guarded by four soldiers. They all looked extremely strong. Behind the door opened by two mighty soldiers, there were stairs leading down. The soldier said he could continue from here. William descended at his normal speed down the still dark stairs, illuminated by torches. Darkness was not a problem for him, he could see better thanks to his bloodline power. After a while, the stairs came to an end. He came into a small room. There was a table, a few bookshelves, and some furniture. Like iron chains.
At the end of this small room was another door, and it was all metal. Two soldiers were waiting at the entrance of the gate. When he arrived, they opened the door, as if forewarned. William went through the door and continued on his way. He realized that he was now in a prison. On either side of it were dirty, smelly cells. All cells were empty. Because there was no one to imprison anymore. Moreover, this was the place where high-ranking prisoners were kept.
William continued on his way. Finally, he passed through an unguarded door and emerged into a large area. There were no paved stones from here. It was an ancient cave, lit by torches. But he still couldn't see Arthur. He continued walking on the path where the torches were lined. After about five hundred meters, the cave began to narrow. In the end, it was the same size as the tunnels made by the worms he had seen in the mountains of worms. There were still torches on the road. After walking another five hundred yards, he reached a gate where two soldiers were waiting. The design of the door was strange. It was a round bronze door with various carvings on it.
William examined the carvings on the door for a while before entering. The carvings included a variety of shapes. Just like the houses, giants, and demon symbols reminiscent of the Chinese architecture of his previous world. The human-like things were fighting these creatures. William interpreted it as 'a battle to protect the house'. He then had the guards open the door and went inside.
When he entered, he saw a large hall. It was well lit inside. Stones emitting white light were placed on the walls of the large hall. This made the hall look like a starry sky, and it also provided lighting inside. The hall was dome-shaped, remodeled from a cave, this was the last room. There was no other door here other than the one from which he came. A huge chandelier hung in the middle of the hall. It was made of stones that emit the same white light. The walls of the hall were filled with bookshelves, but it was almost completely empty. Nothing of value seemed to be left.
Across the door from which he had entered was a stone door-like structure in the only part of the wall that had no bookshelves. He could see behind him through the emptiness inside him. The top of this building was covered with various carvings. Most resembled magic symbols, and a minority of them resembled symbols used on weapons and armor. It was rectangular and had something like a bowl on top. This bowl was combined with the door-like structure. There was a small gap in the part of the door that faced William. It was in the shape of a rhombus.
As soon as he entered the hall, next to the door-like structure, examining the door and taking notes, Arthur turned to him. Beside him were the students he had seen before. It was as if they were in the lab, in the middle of some important research.
Arthur smiled and called William. “Come, look at this beauty.” Said. He had fallen in love with this door-like structure. He wanted to share his joy with William as well.
William came up to him and asked. "Does it work?" He tried to poke it with his finger, but Arthur angrily slapped his hand. "What are you doing. It's a teleportation array! Do not contaminate it with your filthy hands!” yelled.
It was obvious from his facial expression that he was very angry. His passion for research was like a tiger ready to devour William.
"Okay...Okay, I won't touch." William rubbed his finger even though it didn't hurt, and showed a shy smile. "Does it work?" He repeated his question.
The anger on Arthur's face faded, then he fell into deep sadness. He spoke with an angry face as if something last had angered him again. “It works! But we can't get it to work! We don't have a space stone! We don't have a high-level soul stone!” said. He then dragged William across the door. “He took out a mid-level soul stone from his dimensional bag and placed it in the small hole just above their heads. The soul stone was a little too small for this hole. Then he recited a simple spell that William did not know, and waited with excited eyes.
After a while, William got tired of waiting and asked. “Well? Result?"
Arthur was still looking excitedly at the door. After a while, William noticed that the brightness in Arthur's eyes had changed. This radiance was coming from the door, reflected in his eyes.
William immediately looked at the door and his eyes widened. It was as if a photograph of a galaxy appeared before him. Then the light began to shine under their feet, magic symbols etched into the ground, coiling like snakes around the door. Worried that the teleport array would work, he wanted to take a few steps back, but Arthur stopped him. Grabbing him back, he said, “Just watch.” Said.
William did as he was told, the galaxy expanding to the size of a door before them. The process was extremely slow, comparable to the speed of a snail. Just like the last broken television, this galaxy-like image began to deteriorate. It lost its shine a few times and came back. It disappeared completely after a short time. When William looked to where the mid-level soul stone was, he saw only the cremated remains of the soul stone.
"Unbelievable!" he thought. A medium soul stone could increase the strength of an iron rank warrior by a notch in a short time. Of course, pollution was inevitable and it was true that he would certainly be weaker than the others, but that didn't detract from its value.
“It really is incredible.” ' replied Arthur. Then he turned to William and asked. “Did you get the device?”
The task had just occurred to William now. If Arthur hadn't asked, he would certainly have forgotten. He took the device out of his dimensional bag and handed it over. Arthur snatched it from William's hands at perfect speed with a greedy look in his eyes.
He quickly cast a small spell and confirmed that it was the device he wanted. “You are something perfect!” he said, but William didn't know whether he was speaking for him or for the device in his hand. Then Arthur asked, looking at William. “How was the wizard? The necklace must have protected you."
“What do you mean it must have been protected? Are you serious? Don't you know the effect?" William asked with a mixture of surprise and anger.
"Well, we don't have that magic, after all, so we haven't had a chance to try it." Said. He had a helpless expression on his face.
"Damn it! And I trusted you. So if he cast that spell on me, maybe I would die instantly.” William was still angry.
"Do not say that! After all, you are here and alive. You can keep the necklace as a gift!” said. He smiled teasingly.
"Is it a gift? As a matter of fact, I think the payoff is low. Maybe I should get paid a little more.” Said. His gaze turned serious for a moment, barely suppressing the urge to lick his lips.
Arthur was startled by these glances. He had to say something quickly. He patted William on the shoulder, “Hahah! I think you got paid enough, you know!” winked.
William was calmed by his last words. He was right, after all, it was as if he had abducted thousands of soul stones from his family. Honestly, he felt a little bad about it, but it was something he needed to do to become stronger.
“Anyway, I forget these conversations.” William looked at the bookshelves around him. He couldn't see anything to read, then looked at Arthur again and spoke. "I am going. Good luck in your next life, please take care of my family.” Said. He gave a light noble bow in front of him.
Arthur was surprised. "Where are you going?" he asked.
“To the academy. I have work to do, I have to get stronger.” William answered before turning around.
“You're right, we should definitely be stronger. Did you seem interested in becoming a mage? Wanna go to the mage tower? I can write a letter of recommendation.” Arthur realized that he loved this boy. What they did at such a young age was no small feat.
William looked at his with puzzled eyes but refused. “Unfortunately, I want to get strong enough as a warrior first. For now, splitting my attention will only slow me down.” He said and turned around. Indeed it was. If he wanted to become a mage now, he would miss the golden age to rise through the warrior ranks. If he grew old before he was strong enough, he would no longer have the desire to become stronger. He had to punch with all his being while still having strength in his arms.
William had taken a few steps when Arthur spoke again. "Then take this, maybe I won't be around then." said. In his dimensional bag, he pulled out a fist-sized orb-like shiny thing. It looked like snow globes he had seen in his previous life.
He turned back and took the orb he was holding out. “A test globe, use it when you're sixteen. For you to see if you have mage talent.” Said.
"Ah! Thank you. How is it used?” William asked, not knowing. “Simple, you just need to activate it with your qi power,” Arthur explained how to use it. He then made a joke. "Actually, since you didn't tell me you were fourteen, you should owe me that orb, but anyway, consider it a gift from me." He was smiling as he spoke. That's why William didn't take it seriously.
"Thank you again." Said William and left. There wasn't much of a connection between them, but he loved Arthur as much as Baldur.
He was grateful that the wizards he met were so kind and friendly. They were always portrayed badly in the books he read, but the situation was the opposite for now.
After William left the palace, he found Godo's position by asking the guards. They agreed to have a drink tomorrow at noon. They were to meet at the most expensive restaurant on the square. He wanted to lock William as much as possible while Godo and the others had the opportunity.
He found that William also had nothing to do at the moment. This world was very boring unless there really were such things as war, education, or meditation. For a phone right now, he would give all the soul stone in his pocket without blinking. 'Shut up and take my money!' That would be all he would say.
He felt that he had to go to an inn to spend the night. The palace seemed very cold to him, moreover, the inns of the capital were not bad in quality. Finally, maybe he could listen to gossip. That's why he loved the inns in this world the most. They were just like the social media of his previous world. As long as you had sharp enough ears, you could hear gossip, true or false, from the neighbor's cheating on her husband to the king's impotence problem.
He chose to go to the inn where he had stayed before. The service was okay and it was cheap enough. He was rich enough in soul stones but compared to gold as a daily currency, he was poor for a prince. During his time here, it had never occurred to him to ask his father for gold coins.
However, a small portion of the gold his father had given him when he left the barony months ago remained and was more than enough to stay in the inn.
It was crowded when he arrived. Locals always preferred inns to drink. Maybe they couldn't catch up with those restaurants in terms of quality, but it was good enough to earn from the version. William immediately wanted to rent a room, luckily most rooms were empty. The people filled the inn just to drink and have fun.
With a small amount of gold not worth mentioning, he rented a room and asked for the best beer in the inn, along with the best meal. The innkeeper told him to just sit down and his order would come soon. William could barely find himself a table. It was full of drunks and prostitutes who wanted to exploit them.
A p********e haunted William's desk as well, but William quickly chased her away. His body was just entering puberty and he was very young. Although he was very curious about the performance of the man below, he was also afraid of himself. He was afraid that this wolf bloodline would force him to do something he didn't want.
In particular, he was afraid that he would experience one of the stereotypical and stereotypical stories that used to contain such horror and tension, including wolves as an extra. Yes, the fear of being a werewolf. His mind was constantly playing the scene where he transforms into a wolf and eats his victim's entire body, starting from the neck. This world had a sun and a moon, and in eight days there would be a full moon. When that day came, William thought of locking himself in a cave somewhere in the woods.
He then immediately shook his head. 'No! This is not my old world. It's just a fantasy. There's no way such a thing could happen!' he dismissed his thoughts.
Meanwhile, his food and beer arrived. The innkeeper apologized and said that it was his best meal now. Already William suspected that it was too cheap. It was like a goddamn bean dish but tasted a thousand times worse than a bean. It might even have no taste. He gave the innkeeper an angry look but said nothing because his beer was fine. He could tell that he was in this state because of the war. It would probably be fixed in a few days.
He tried to listen to various gossip at the inn, but the only talk was the success of the rebellion and how good a king Thedo would be. William quickly lost interest. He spent about an hour listening to people praise Thedo and drinking his beer, then went to his rented room. He didn't want to worry about meditation or the daggers in his bag today. He decided to get rid of his emotional depression with sleep.
For William, this decision was perfect because as soon as he lay down on the bed, he fell asleep like a baby, although he was not tired.
Note: I know my English is bad and it bothers people. So I made a decision. I'll double the number of chapters next week. But then I will take a break for a week. In the meantime, I'll edit the chapters from start to finish. On this date, I will double the chapters. -->14/03/2022
