"This is not ending anytime soon” I muttered, his words echoing in my head as I collapsed in the nearby sette, trembling like an ancient Asian leaf.
My body was visibly shivering,my heart pounding heavily as I wondered what I had done to deserve all the Betrayal, false accusations, and the whole embarrassment. I felt a loud pang in my chest, and it seemed as though I was going to pass out anytime soon.
Fear and raw pain overwhelmed me as I reminisced Leo’s cold attitude towards me.
I had left and expected that from him.
Grabbing my phone, which was ringing on the table, I realized that it was Leo calling, and my heart sank deep into my knees.
“12, Ferguson Street”
“St. Martin Hospital”
“ Come there immediately “ came Leo’s harsh voice as he ended the call immediately.
I was stunned at the moment as different thoughts enveloped my mind.
“Why was my presence nedded in the hospital and what exactly had I done wrong” I asked myself endlessly.
Dressed in blue pants with black shirts, I hurried off to the addresses which were given to me .
My phone rang again, and it was Leo, and I decided not to pick it this time as I was already on my way to the hospital.
I got to the address of the hospital, and I was led into the hospital.
Sitting on the reception looking pale, I waited for Leo.
He came out shortly, his face looking stern.
“ Claire lost a good amount of blood due to the several beatings from you and…” he announced, looking at my face to get my reaction.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I looked at the simp my husband has been reduced to.
“Go on” I commanded him, ever ready for the worst.
“ She would be needing some blood transfusion, and we would be needing you to donate your blood for her” he yelped in a commanding tone.
I glared at him in utter surprise.
“Really?” I asked him, my eyebrows furrowed.
“This is so ridiculous” I stated, surprise written clearly on my face.
“ Leo, I never laud my hands on Claire, I have no business with her blood loss, and there is no reason why I would have to donate blood to her” I yelled.
“Look at me, Leo, that lady is a liar, and she is full of deceit” My voice was calm.
“You dont have to believe her, I never beat her up” I swore, tears already flooded in my eyes.
“Now,listen young lady, go in there, run the test, and donate sufficient blood to her or else you would have the cops to deal with” he roared, storming out of my sight .
I stood transfixed at one spot, dumbfounded as I decided to follow him suit.
My blood samples were taken, and a test was conducted and I was led into a dark room, blood taken away from my body.
I was led out of the ward, my face gloomy and my whole body weak, and it seemed as though I would be collapsing soonest.
I stared at Claire, where she laid, and her lips curled into a mocking snicker.
“This girl just devised a means to drain my blood” I muttered to myself.
My eyes were dizzy, my vision blurry as I made my way into the nearby sette before collapsing into it, I felt dejected as though the whole world had left me behind.
Almost immediately, Leo came out from the ward and walked towards me, his face looking cold as ice.
He threw an envelope towards me, and I grabbed them immediately.
“Sign those papers” he furthered, which made me glare at him.
“What papers?” My heart was pounding heavily.
I slightly opened the papers, and my jaw dropped, my face widened in shock.
“ What??”
“Divorce papers?”
“What are they for?” I asked him.
“Sign them immediately. My lawyer would be here in a few hours to take them .
My chest quivered with pain as I stood speechless.
Seeing his signature at the other side of the paper caused me more pain as I knew he was determined to divorce me .
“Is it because of Claire” I asked him.
“Please, Andrea, You have to take Claire out of this matter, she is ill abs needs to heal, I had never loved you for three years of our marriage and I figured it is right time I end this fallacy called love, our marriage was a delusion and you know that , I nev er loved you” he confessed and I could feel my world crumbling into peices.
I felt extremely aggrieved by his statement as tears rolled down my eyes freely.
“Leo, please give us another chance, I promise to make everything right wrong” I begged him as I held his arms tight, hoping he got a change of mind.
Immediately, he released his hands from my grip and looked at me directly in my face.
“We can't do this anymore, Andrea” he dropped, his face stern, with no atom of regret.
My throat burned as I swallowed the streak of tears dropping down my eyes.
“I have cried enough, I had endured enough, I loved you Leo but You threw my love to the dusts, I gave myself selflessly to you, showering you with all the love and affection I could ever offer but you threw them to the dust, It is certain that I don't deserve happiness, the universe had been so cruel to me, the decision had already been made” I wept as I signed the divorce papers handing them over to him.
Violent shudders ran through my veins as I sat there, my mind spinning, heart racing.
I picked up my bag from the seat, and it was certain that my world had come to an end as I made my way towards the hospital gate.
