CHAPTER 5

"Mrs Hardy?" I called more like in a questioning way. I guess I can now see how blue eyes here knows my name. "Hey Anastasia, you made it. Frankly, I thought you wouldn't come." She smiled at me hugging me from the side. I didn't hug her back. "I didn't think I would meet you here." I said to her as she leads me towards the mansion. "Well.... Here I am. Anyway, before we go in.... You should know you are kind of a celebrity around here." She whispered in my ear. I stared at her confuse, "What do you mean?" "I'm just giving you a heads-up. Anyway, we shouldn't keep everyone waiting, they would all be feeling so impatient to meet you. Anastasia please meet the family." She grinned at me, as she opened the door of the mansion. "Wow." Was the only thing that could come out of my lips. This is like a whole village in here. *The family* is so much more than a family. "Welcome Anastasia, I'm so glad you could make it." An elderly, okay not so elderly... but agile man came forward to shake my hand. One look at him, I could tell he his blues father. The resemblance is so clear. "I am Christian father, I hope he didn't put you through much trouble just to get you here?" He asked, shaking my fragile hands with so much agility. So... Christian is blue eyes name, well... I still prefer blue eyes. So I'm sticking with blue eyes. "You can call me Mr Grey." The man went on to say. He is a real talkative unlike his son. The words blue eyes know, are; Dragons are real, you are the witch that's going to save me and my people. That's just all. Nothing else. His head is full with dragon nonsense. "Grey, let her come in. Great-gran is waiting for her." Mrs hardy yells, from inside the house. So, I'm guessing great gran mean great grand father. "This way, miss Anastasia." Mr Grey said, showing me the way inside. He took me to a really big hall... and the rest of the people standing at the entrance of the house followed closely behind. I thought I had seen the whole family, nope! I actually met more in the really great hall. This place could be taken as the size of an arena. Really big. I know the mansion is really gigantic, but isn't this too big to be inside the mansion. There was an elderly man sitting right at the middle of the arena, he looks so old and really fragile. I fear he could drop dead at just any moment. A chair was placed right in front of great-gran, I'm guessing that's my seat. I am right, it is my seat. I sat down awkwardly staring at great-gran, feeling so uneasy. "I never thought the day would come, when I would meet the offspring of Arkalis. I thought I would have joined my ancestors. I am glad to have set my eyes upon you, before I joined my ancestors." He smiled warmly at me. For a man who looks like he could die at anytime, he actually has a great and strong voice. "Arkalis?" I questioned. "Yes Arkalis. He is the name of the sorcerer that made the spell. The one responsible for men turning to dragons. And you are the descendants of that man." Mrs hardy answered. "Based on your teaching Mrs hardy, I could tell this whole spell thing/ dragon thing happened a really long time ago. Which means there was like a bunch of other descendants/offspring right before me. So why couldn't any of them put an end to the spell." I asked thoughtfully. "That's because no one has his magic. They all had magic, but not Arkalis magic. Every wizard before dying, they had to pass on their magic to someone they feel is worthy of it. Arkalis didn't pass his magic, and so... the magic can only choose the next worthy person. And that worthy person, is you." Mrs hardy pats me on the shoulder lovingly. "We are not really sure about that yet, Anastasia. We would have to check if you are indeed the offspring with Arkalis magic." Blue eyes said coming to stand next to me. "Ohh, I have a feeling she is the one." Mrs hardy smiled at me. "Yeah, you had that feeling for the that three we found." Blue eyes snort. "Last three?" I questioned. "Yeah, your relatives. Same age as you." Blue eyes answered. So I have relatives, and none of them had ever thought of coming for me. I thought my parents didn't have any living relatives. "So... how are you going to know that I have Arkalis magic in me?" I still don't believe all what blue eyes said, but it won't hurt to play along. I feel very amused by the whole situation. "Well there's been plenty of descendants of Arkalis, and all we can do is test them with the staff of Arkalis." Great-Gran answered. "Arkalis staff?" "Yes Anastasia, if you truly are the one we are looking for... the white diamond on the staff will shine really bright." Great-Gran smiled at me warmly, signifying for the staff to be brought. A lady walked up to us, the staff laying on her palm. "Take it." Great-gran instructed. I gulped nervously, taking the staff from the lady. At first it didn't glow... there was no reaction from the light. Whispers could be heard in the hall. "I guess she's not the one." "I knew it couldn't be her." "Another waste of our time." And so many more. I was about handing the staff back to the lady, when it began to glow, just a small glow at first... then it became bigger, the light shined across the room. "Oh my God. You are the one, you are with Arkalis blood." Great-Gran exclaimed, hugging me really tightly.
