24 That evening Helen suggested dinner at Taverna O Thanasis. She had spent the day working on an idea for a new book, and had given no thought to food; she was not even sure they had anything at all in the house. “We must go to the supermarket tomorrow,” she remarked. “Tomorrow might be difficult for me,” said Day, wondering where to start to bring her up to date. It was an excellent idea to eat at the taverna, because over dinner he could take his time to explain. “Maybe we could eat at Thanasis’s for a few nights till we can go and buy food.
